    Childish show

I decided to watch the episode as it's the highest rated in the show. It's not quite great enough on its own. The show is great for teens for sure. Now in 2022 the effects and childish Superman is a bit much. It's very well-structured so you always have deep scenes and careful dialogue focused on emotions. It gives you more time with the characters compared to movies or modern TV shows. But a lot of scenes are just lazy melodrama. The time travel is cool and all. But the curious events are made into gags or just Superman being silly as he's in a new situation. It's too on the nose and too childish to really hold up. Even the action and fights are childish and not brutal enough. Which is a shame as the slower pace is quite great. The actors are also very emotional and good. It should have gone full comedy or tried to be a bit more realistic.

Besides this the special effects and costumes are quite boring. Just cheap sci-fi stuff. Again not quite what I want from a TV show. But I think that if you watch it from end to end and can get into the mood of the show the episode will feel more powerful for sure. The episode itself is curious. It's just that you can't really do much with Superman. He is too strong and never loses.

First of four appearances of the time-traveling science fiction author H.G. Wells.

Once Lois has learned that Clark is Superman, it makes no sense for them to use a rental car to drive to the Kents' house. Superman can just fly there at invisible super-speed (like he did when he captured the James Brothers).

Lois Lane: If you wanna kill Superman, I don't know why you're going to Smallville or 1966.

Tempus: She doesn't know yet. Oh, this is good. This is really good. Um, Lois, did you know that, in the future, you're revered at the same level as Superman? Why there are books about you, statues, an interactive game. You're even a breakfast cereal.

      Lois Lane: Really?

Tempus: Yes. But, as much as everybody loves you, there is one question that keeps coming up: "How dumb was she?" Here, I'll show you what I mean. Look.

      [puts glasses on]

      Tempus: I'm Clark Kent.

      [Takes glasses off]

      Tempus: No, I'm Superman.

      [Puts glasses on]

      Tempus: Mild-mannered reporter.

      [Takes glasses off]

Tempus: Superhero. Hello! Duh! Clark Kent is Superman. Ha, ha, ha. Well, that was worth the whole trip. To actually meet the most galactically stupid woman who ever lived.
