In "Children of the Night" we are told that Gustov Helsing does not have any crosses but in "Double Cross' it specifically deals with a large cross Gustov has over his staircase to keep Dracula and his minions out. The scene is explained away that the youngest nephew did not notice the cross but considering how large it is, it's a very hard pill to swallow. The cross is not at all visible in any shot in the pilot though it is clearly visible in the rest of the series.
