Buffy and Spike

the relationship between spike and buffy in this episode is almost as romantic as me and my husband before we got together. and I have been married to my husband for 10 years.

and in my opinion they all needed some time away from buffy as their leader to realize how good the have it.

One last sex show

Took 7 seasons for me to finally like Spike as he was the only one who stood by Buffy when the end drew closer. Which is also pretty sad. I always hate when everyone turns their backs on the hero until the hero saves them all ...

Oh and let's make sure we get one big sex show for the kiddies before the series ends.

Betraying Buffy

My favorite thing about this episode was Spike's loyalty to Buffy. Once again her friends turn their back on Buffy after all the times she helped them. Very disappointed in their loyalty to her. Spike's words to Buffy were beautiful and so raw. He put his whole heart out there and told Buffy how wonderful she is which her friends couldn't. Spike had to be my favorite character of this series. He added comic relief and some personality to the boring Scooby gang. The whole lesbian Willow was so focused on the series that it didn't add anything to the show. Zander never grew as a character. Dawn could have been a great character but put on the back burner. Great characters ruined by Joss. Happy it's over. Great show until this last season.

According to the original prop, the letter Buffy leaves for Spike reads: "Spike, You told me things last night that I really needed to hear. I feel stronger now because of you. I know what my mission is and that Caleb's holding the secret to it all. This one I have to take care of alone. You take care too. Buffy"

Goofs
This takes up exactly where the previous one ( Empty Places (2003) ) left off. Anya now has curly hair, but she had straight hair at the end of Empty Places. However, hair colors and styles changing abruptly from one episode to the next have been a running gag on this show, starting with Seth Green's character Oz and continuing with Anya.

Alternate versions
During her encounter with Caleb, Buffy's original line, "If someone didn't know you, they might think you were a woman-hating prick," has been re-edited for F/X reruns to "woman-hating jerk". The R1 season 7 DVD includes this re-dubbed line as well.
