    Sympathetic--I Think Not

Clayface is back. He is indeed a sad character. Like so many literary villains, his problems have led to the disintegration of his mind. Batman offered him help at one point in the past, but he refused. He now has a young woman who loves him and will do anything to help him, Stella. He uses her when he wants something but his intentions are short lived. He needs a new isotope to help him. A couple reviewers think that it is to return him to his former self, but ultimately it will just increase his strength. Batman reasons with him but his mind is too far gone and he goes to a just reward for the things he has done.

    "Mommy, is that person melting?"

Mudslide is one of the best episodes of the series. To say it's a children's programme, it's quite a disturbing episode, and one that is sure to leave an impact. Clayface is so well written as a villain, that we begin to feel a great deal of empathy, and almost root for his success.

    A very, very good episode.

    • Trivia
According to Bruce Timm, the reason they did not use Clayface much is because he was too expensive to animate, as well as too difficult to come up with a good story for. Also, Eric Radomski came up with the idea due to the fans demanding another Clayface episode, after the success of Feat of Clay: Part I (1992)/Feat of Clay: Part II (1992)
    • Goofs
MP-40 is not an isotope; it is a mutagenic adaptogen, presumably a compound, not a single element.
