    The Veggies Have Arrived!

This 1994 video short was the first official Veggie Tales video. It's packed with laughs and computer animation, and is once again, "kid friendly, adult enthused," but it isn't the best Veggie Tales. They tend to get better as they go along. (though Lyle the Friendly Viking and King George and his Ducky were let downs.) A definite muste see, even must own for adults. Hey, I own all of them, and I never get tired of limbless vegetables with morals. Would you? If you just answered yes..."Be quiet and eat your veggies!" Because I answer no, I would never get tired of them. Here's to Big Ideas, who had the strategy of all strategies: disguised Christian morals in widely popular and succesful shows...

The one that started it all!

This is, without a doubt, one of the best VeggieTales episodes. This was the one that started the generation of vegetable lovers as a three dimensional tomato and cucumber came to life on a video cassette. While the animation and graphics are outdated, the story, characters, and songs still stay strong after more than 27 years.

My favorite Veggie Tales show-tied with Rack Shack and Benny!

I watch this all the time! Even at age 19, this is a fun video! I should note, however, that there are many scary parts throughout, but it's meant to teach to not be afraid. I even added 99% of the parents guide for further information.

I would also like to state that I was abused when I was 14 and the God is Bigger song helped me survive it. It even helped when I was homesick at tech school, and I sang it at a church camp. It's been the most powerful song in my life.

I can't recommend this enough-you will adore it!

In fact, why not see it now?

    The dawn of the veggies

Even though this is one of the first cgi animations made, the story and moral is nice as well as the characters and jokes and diffiently the music. Only problem is the close ups and the character movement where they sometimes the character doesn't move.

"Sunday Morning Values, Saturday Morning Fun!" I agree!

I promise all the Christian parents out there that this video and the series will be the best money you spend on videos this decade. I cannot think of a video series more well written than the VeggieTales tapes. This tape (Where's God When I'm S-Scared?) has a strong Biblical perspective on fear and it also tells the story of Daniel and the lions den.(in Veggie style) I promise the whole Christian family will enjoy these musical lessons from the Bible. Go get these now!!!!

    • Trivia
The lightning flash in the background sky when Wiseman #1 suggest to Darius that Daniel be thrown into the Lion's Den was actually a computer glitch that Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki couldn't fix. So, they just added a thunderclap sound effect and made it lightning.

In one scene, the necklace that Mom Asparagus is wearing doesn't move along with her.
    • Quotes

Junior Asparagus: Aaah! Who are you?

Bob: I'm Bob. I'm a tomato and I'm here to help you.

Junior Asparagus: There's something in my toy chest! It's a big scary lizard! It's a... baby pickle.

      Bob: Um, it's a cucunber

      Larry: Where is everybody?

Bob: Over here, Larry! We couldn't notice that you were a little bit scared.

Larry: Yeah! Um, fear not, for behold I bring you tidings of great joy which shall be to all people, for unto you...

      Bob: Wrong story, Larry.

      Larry: Oh, sorry.

    • Alternate versions
In the earliest VHS copies, the credits play after each segment. Henceforth editions changed this after parents wrote to Big Idea, telling them that their kids got up and walked away after the first segment, thinking the video was over.
