I can't believe that so many people dislike this TV show because they hate Miley Cryus and they don't like the show. Just because she is too mature for her age and is a real daddy's girl doesn't mean that people should hate her for that. Anyway about the TV show the show is about a young teenager named Miley Stewart who by day is a country gal and by night with the help of some clothes and a blonde wig she is Hannah Montana. The music is alright and the plot is funny. I find Cyrus to be funny as she always says Jackson said something about what? and she's always fighting with her brother Jackson.
The movie version of this is very good as it is similar to the TV show except it shows us where she lived and what she is missing out on.
I like the show and I think Cryus is OK a bit too old fashioned and her accent is annoying but still I think she's a decent actress.
Is it me or is she trying to be Hilary Duff's long lost twin with the blonde wig and the style of clothes. Never mind anyway i'll give it a 8/10.

How someone can say that Disney blew it with this show is beyond me, but I'm happy that the person in question is not running the channel. Hannah Montana is a global success phenomenon for a reason. The show is funny, the teen cast is, most of the part, very good and the kids watching the show learn some valuable lessons for their life. The music fits the show perfectly with songs specifically written with the main character's problems in mind. This show has been nominated every single year, since its start back in 2006, for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Program and has won 20 other prices in the process. They must be doing something right in my opinion. I understand that it's not the best show on earth, but everyone bashing this show into oblivion and giving it only 1 star is more than irrational. Hannah Montana has been a money magnet for Disney (TV show, music CDs, cinema movies, merchandising) and millions of children worldwide love this character. You can't achieve this with a bad product. Give it a try and watch the show, and don't listen to all the bad reviewers that would probably run the channel bankrupt with their taste for TEEN shows anyway. - (Home improvement, seriously?)
10 years ago, no one would have suspected that a show about a middle school girl who lives a double life as a normal teen and a pop sensation would become an overnight hit - but it has, and that type of show takes the form of Mickey's new pride and joy Hannah Montana, starring a fresh-faced Miley Cyrus (yes, "Achy Breaky's" daughter).
So the premise, well, I have already explained it. But the catch is, for some reason, she has to keep her double identity a secret. The only people who know are her family, friends, and her on-again-off-again boyfriend. It seems easy enough to keep the cat in the bag, but paparazzi photos that contain evidence and suspicious schoolmates are easy - and frequent - threats to the ordeal.
The acting is all over the place on this show. The actors can be over-the-top and crazy very frequently, and in a second can switch to dull and lifeless, be it in a comedic or dramatic scene. One actor who manages to (slightly) neutralize herself is Emily Osment - who plays the main character's best friend - from the last two installments of Spy Kids, and she does quite a good job of that. A bright future for her as an actress can definitely be seen. Mitchel Musso and Jason Earles have great comedic timing but are way too wild with their acting on occasion. Billy Ray Cyrus as the father (meaning he doesn't have to act much as he's Hannah's father in real life) often seems like he's reading off a teleprompter and shows no emotion. His daughter, Miley, the leading lady, definitely has some comedic timing but needs to work more on her acting if she's expected to carry a show.
The story lines are mostly good and have some kind of moral value to them. But as with typical Disney tradition, the values are never subtle. But that's OK, because the 18 minutes leading up to the 2-minute cheesiness are mostly enjoyable. And Miley has quite a bit of singing talent. The acting is mediocre and the plots can be shallow at times, but overall, this is enjoyable and kids will love it, which is the most important thing for a show like this. Hannah Montana rates as a 6 out of 10.

Some people don't like this show but I really love it. Destiny "Miley" Cyrus has a weird accent, she is from Tennessee and she lives in Malibu, California. She lives a double life as a normal eight grade teenager and as a famous pop star ("Hannah Montana"). It's funny sometimes and the characters are lovable like her brother Jackson trying to hook up with girls. Her best friend Lily who's a total dork (I know but she's my dork, lol)Oliver is the slow one (like Chelsea from That's so Raven) and her real life dad--"Billy Ray Cyrus" is so funny! Well I think that is all I can explain about the show...if you don't like the Disney Channel shows than you might not like it but if you do you will adore Hannah Montana.

- TriviaJason Earles said in an interview with Jimmy Fallon that Jackson was originally very introverted and shy and could only talk through a puppet he carried with him everywhere. While rehearsing a scene, Earles did so well that the director rethought the character.
- GoofsDuring the beach scenes, when a character wears sunglasses, stage lights are reflected.
