    This movie was great

I saw this movie at the LDS Film Festival, I thought I was great, Kirby Heyborne and Corbin Allred, I think were the best people for the characters they played. It was funny, and also had a good moral, if you want something or love someone with all your heart, do what it takes. I cannot wait until it comes out on DVD on February 14th. Its about these two guys that go to Idaho in search of this guys sister, who they saw in a picture the brother showed them. They act like they are foreign exchange students from Hungary, and stay at her parents house and live with them. In one of the scenes, the parents think that "Gustav" (Corbin Allred) and "Gaysa" (Kirby Heyborne) are home sick, so the mom makes them a Hungarian Meal, that looks just awful, so "Gaysa" says he is sick to avoid eating it, while "Gustav" is left to eat the food to keep from revealing that they are not from Hungary.

Good movie if you're not looking for anything too extraordinary

    With a truly awful ending.

The movie is funny enough, it certainly had me in stitches at several points, but then it tries to do the romance angle, and to be fair to it, didn't do all that bad a job until the last few sections when the previously excellent dialogue becomes corny and stilted. Som much so that even the actors (especially Lara Everly playing Natalie Harris) seem to have some trouble forcing the words out. Her last conversation with Elliot Buddles (the really rather good Corbin Allred) is a particularly shoddy examination of how much salad dressing you can add to some pretty hammy script.

Overall a good movie, nice waste of an hour and a half. If you're not in the mood for something too taxing for the synaptic nerves and just want to switch off, this is definitely recommended. May also make a good choice for you and your girlfriend(s).

Don't ever see a movie just because you know someone in it

Wow, I should have taken jalapeño man's advice and not watched this movie. I only watched it because I went to High School with Corban Allred. The acting done by Corban and Kirby was fine, but the script stunk! It had its funny moments, but they were few and far between. This was made by LDS people, but it's not an LDS film like Singles Ward or the RM. The one thing this show has going for it, is that you don't have to worry about your children walking in during an "uncomfortable moment." It's nice to watch a clean movie, however some brain cell lossage might occur while watching this film. Don't bother, in fact, run the other way! Kirby and Corban are very good in Saints and Soldiers. Go see that instead.

    decent movie

I'm not a Mormon but did find the movie.entertaining. Usually Christian movies are cheesy because of the budget (which I'm sure the budget wasn't huge on this one) but the acting was good and the script was also good. I'm a non-denominational Christian, and it gave some insight to the Mormons. I'm not going to convert over but I will continue watching films like this, given that the plot and acting is decent. It is better than what's on television now days, which is nothing short of filthy language. It's just not like the old days.

This film is funny, especially the bowling part. No spoilers but it's worth watching at least once. Finding out that the two main characters are Mormons in real life is kind of funny, since they do a good job acting like they have never seen a church before. Like I said, pretty good acting. It's a show I would watch again.

    Short, formulaic, but well done

Not a bad way to spend an hour and a half.

Not a very complex story. Guy "sees" girl, decides to win her heart by pretending to be someone or something else. Complications ensue ...

Has been done before, but perhaps not in the same context or background. The end seems to come up abruptly, so complications are resolved perhaps too quickly.

Pretty stereotypical characters, and not difficult to follow or figure out what is going on.

Good looking cast, and the performances are within parameters (and perhaps within the relatively short experience) but more opportunities should come their way.
