    Watched it twice

I rented this movie because of the cast. I was surprised, but not disappointed. Real bare bones noir style for this subject matter. Not really funny but amusing all the same. Unevenly paced but light with good characters. Good acting by everyone. Especially Shady, A particularly powerful presence. Joe Piscopo was as good as ever, and John Heard was as funny as I've ever seem him. Armand Assante nails the roll of head mafia boss, and its the first time I've ever seen Steven Bauer in acomedy roll. Pretty good. I got lost a few times and didn't really catch on till about the middle of the movie. Then I watched it over again and liked it better the second time around.

    college kid

Ahh, film noir at its best. Low budget fair, tongue in cheek, action packed, just what I like. Great acting by everybody in the cast. I had to watch it several times, because I couldn't get enough, it's just my type of film. I recommend this film to anyone whose tired of the same old Hollywood schpiel, movies that go nowhere, I can't stand those crappy movies that doesn't go anywhere and don't care about anything. I think it's the perfect college kid movie, kinda sloppy, but its a free form flow, making it that much better. The character Shady is one of the best I've seen act in a long time; a real heavy with a light touch. A go see...

    It moves

This movie had good performances all around is fast paced, light hearted and funny. The beginning dragged just a bit, but picks up when Shady gets to Los Angeles and dawns a slightly different demeanor for everyone he meets. There's a few holes in the plot but they are minor instances that are easily overlooked. Solid core of actors in this one and they all have their moments. I would have liked to have seen some scenes built out more. And also was left wondering what happened between Thick and Shady. Maybe thats in the sequel? The New York scenes were great. And some of the fade out cinematography worked well, especially the close up's on Shady. All in all, entertaining.

    I got a laugh

Uneven plot. Holes in the story line. Who cares. Obviously a real low budget farce. But it works. There is some good acting here. And if you like low budget movies that look like they were made on a shoe string budget, this is for you. The movie doesn't take itself seriously at all. It's a big joke. The male leads were great. I don't know how the movie got from one place to another, but I didn't care. I was having dinner anyway and didn't have much focus. Maybe I'll watch it again before sending it back. The photography was shaky and the picture could have definitely been better but the music was great. This is not a movie you take seriously. But it's a laugh.

    Awful

This movie was awful from the get-go. The acting was so bad, I thought it was a porno. The script was very cheesy, and even in the worst movie I've seen to date, I've yet to hear such ridiculously stupid (and I mean totally uneducated, written by a complete amateur) dialog. Even the camera work was poor. It looked like it was filmed was the nicest camcorder you could buy at an electronics store. It was all very silly. In fact, I couldn't even finish watching the film before I wrote this review. At least we only rented this for a dollar, but I don't recommend even wasting that much. Even though you may recognize a couple of the actors, I think they were having a lull in their career when they decided to make this movie. It'a awful, horrible, a total turkey.
