    The Must-Have PS2 Game!

This game, without a doubt, a must-have game for the PS2 platform! If you love Rock'n'Roll and/or Dance Dance Reveloution, you have come to the right place.

This game is about you as a guitarist for your made-up band and you start below of the Rock'n'Roll totem poll playing ghetto clubs and people's basements. In order to become a true rock-star, you must rock out with some heavy awesome music from legendary rockers including Black Sabbath, White Zombie, The Ramones, Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrex, and many, many more!!! Before you know it, you will be in festivals!!!

My favorite thing about this game is the guitar controller! tilt, sensitive, whammy bar, strum bar, fret buttons. Feels like I am a true rock-star when I use it!

The only problems about the game is that the farther you go, the harder it gets (but you better suck it up though because real guitar solos are more difficult) and the price of the game and controller. Where I got it, it was $80.00 but you can also go to Amazon.com to get it only for $60.00. But other than that, it's definitely worth buying. Rock on, Guitar Heroes!!!

For once, an awesome game that doesn't need violence.

I remember when GH2 came out. it was kind of a little thing, like the special Olympics. but i never heard of the first guitar hero game. and if it had publicity on TV, just imagine how much it would have sold.

Well, in guitar hero, you have a guitar that looks like a fisher-price toy, but in reality, it can play some really awesome music if you hold the frets down and strum the strum bar. and thats the whole idea. but how do you know which frets to hold and strum? well, on the screen a "fretboard" will show the notes coming at you on the screen and when they're on the line, thats when you strum. the whole idea is to get the most points as you can.

    and, it is awesome.

unfortunately, it's not very big. there's only 30 or so songs you would know, while there's maybe 10 - 15 bonus songs, that makes a soundtrack of 45 songs. i know that sounds big, but compared to the modern guitar hero games, that isn't.

bottom line, if you love the guitar hero series, this one is where the nostalgia's at. all of the music is mainly made before 2000, so, as a kid, you could play this, and your mom or dad could walk in and hear a song you're playing and enjoy it.

    Awesome

This game is a really good game. I also love how you don't have to know how to play guitar to be a "guitar hero". All of the other people that I know that have played this game also think it is great. As another comment about this game says it is a must need in Play Station two households. I have played this game pretty much a million times, and I still haven't gotten bored of it. It is somewhat hard, but not that badly, you just need to have good hand and eye coordination. Hint, Hint. There is just one thing I would fix about this game, which is, I think it could have a few better songs, but that is why they made the second so, I really suggest getting this game.

    • Trivia
During the "Loading" scene, the game display different text about the rules and techniques to become a real rock star. One of them is, "Do not eat things that were thrown on stage." This is a classic Rock 'n' Roll reference about Ozzy Osbourne's similar incident. While performing on stage, a fan threw a bat on stage. Ozzy bit the head off it and then he discovered it was a real dead bat!
