I loved Duckman. It was one of my favorite adult cartoons of the 1990s. Everett Peck was an amazing person, but unfortunately, Squirrel Boy is not his best work. In fact, it is, by far, his worst creation yet. Squirrel Boy was such a god awful show. The plot was horrible, the animation sucked, everything about this show was horribly awful. Everett Peck left Duckman for this??!! Duckman was an awesome show, and I was so upset that Everett went on to make this mess. This show was so disappointing, especially to us fans of Duckman. Cartoon Network should not have green-lit this show in the first place. Cartoon Network did have bad shows before this like Big Bag, Cow and Chicken, Mile, Lu & Og, and Sunday Pants, but this is just plain awful. Squirrel Boy was among one of the most forgettable cartoons Cartoon Network has ever made. By far the network's worst that came out in 2006. Rodney the Squirrel was such a pain in the butt. Everett Peck, go back to Duckman. Please?
I honestly think the main reason why I don't like this show is mainly due to it's art style and character designs. However the voice acting is pretty good (especially since I know Jason Spisak can voice little boys) apart from Rodney's voice because it just sounds terrible, I like Richard Steven Horvitz as a voice actor but his Squirrel boy is just a miscast. They should have gone with someone like Josh Keaton, Dee Bradley Baker, Johnny Yong Bosch (even if he would have been stuck in anime at this time), Jason Marsden or even David Kaufman.
I have to admit though the intro is good but the designs of the show (even if its by the same person who made Duckman) just put it down.

Though it's certainly been said before, this show is, to put it simply.. dull. It does very little to push the standards of conventional cartoon humor, and even fails to deliver the mediocre; which wouldn't be all bad if not for the fact that most of the characters in the show are simply uninteresting.
Most dialog throughout the series seems to lack proper timing and the chemistry required to care about the characters, their relationships, or what's even going on in any particular episode. Though the voice acting is decent, it often seems as though the show is trying so hard to be entertaining that it's actually begging you to laugh at it's bland and all-too-familiar setup.

It's kind of stupid and not very funny, but still a tad better than a lot of reviews say. It had potential and characters had the potential to be likable, particularly the squirrel. The writers just fell short on making it happen.
This show is about two characters named Rodney J Squirrel and Andy Johnson who become best friends, Rodney J Squirrel is such an annoying character and the worst comic relief ever and Andy Johnson is such a bland character who has no personality whatsoever, Rodney in most of the episodes can be very unlikable even though his voice while okay he can be annoying at times, both Andy Johnson and Rodney J Squirrel are both rip-off's of Mac and Bloo (Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends) even though Foster's Home came out in 2004 and ended in 2009 while this show came out in 2006 and ended in 2007 the other characters are just filler and do nothing except goofing off.
