This is the movie which has changed how I look at life.

This is a movie for people who takes life for granted. In our pursuit of happiness, we forget simple things in life. This movie will remind us that what makes life worth living is our simple tasks and activities in our daily living. We don't have to grasp our widest dream to enjoy our life. After I have watched this movie, I go to gym every day just to enjoy running and weight lifting, knowing that one day I would be old and that my age would prevent me from doing things I am capable of doing now. Just like Aya, she soon lost her abilities to do things she used to do. The different is that time comes quick on her. But surely, her life reflects our life that we are getting older everyday. This is the movie which has changed the way I look at life.

      Incredible !!!

      Incredible!!

The TV series version is great (no idea about the Movie), the pace of story in series is perfect, and the performance of actors and actresses are superb. Above all the story is the simply amazing.

This story certainly changes our view of life, and makes us realize that 'u don't know what u have till its gone'. It inspires us to enjoy our life and become a useful person.

      Indeed a gr8 movie !!!

Talking about Erika, (oh my god!) she has the best smile of the world. She makes us smile when she smiles, and makes us cry when she cries.

Please Watch this MOVIE!!! (...Not the TV drama...)

first of all i......in case you guys didn't know, this one is th MOVIE version of 1 Litre of Tears, NOT the TV series one!!! The one with Erika is the TV series which they filmed at 2005,after the released of the MOVIE version(2004),and this one is the the MOVIE website... don't mess up

I think Asae Oeshi done a wonderful job by doing this role, she acts much better than the TV drama one. She may not pretty as Erika but she sure can act. They add a lot of conflicts and that "boyfriend" who didn't exist in the reality. This movie is more based on the reality, and all the acting are more realistic.

      Please go watch it

"Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing..."

Ichi rittoru no namida (1 litre of tears)

This Japanese dorama is about a girl who was diagnosed with a disease called Spinocerebellar Degeneration when she was 15 years old, and was able to continue her life until her death at the age of 25 years old.

The plot is based on the true story of a Japanese girl named Kito Aya, who had the same disease. She kept writing in her diary to remember her experiences until she could no longer hold a pen. Aya simply wished to live until the end of her life, and the purpose of writing in the diary was to remind herself to not give up. She shed tears many times, at the same time encompassed by the rich love and support from her family, friends, and boyfriend. Her diary "1 Litre of Tears" was published after her death, because of its inspiring and courageous message of, "Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing." So far, over 18,000,000 copies of her diary have been sold.

This J-dorama really made me cry at least 2 liters of tears! I have not for a long time seen anything this sad. Erika Sawajiri made a great personification of Aya. Truly touching story, and the music is wonderful. 11 episodes full of true feelings, love, sadness and family values. I strongly recommend this drama series to everyone!

This movie changes the perspective and thinking towards one's life and also things we take for granted .

This is my first ever review about any shows . Well i watched the orignal old tv series not thiis movie but , Looking back at this series I can say this is an life changing and unforgettable (sad/bittersweet) I will never forget throughout my entire life . This series makes us rethink about things we takes for granted , make us realize those things we already had , some doesn't . Whenever you ever feel down in life and crossed your enduring limit and having thought about taking that step rethink about what valuable things you gonna lose , i guarantee this series will make changes in you , good changes .
