Has a wealth of attractive settings

This two-part story is artistic and has a wealth of attractive settings. The scenes along the coast and in the rural village were particularly enjoyable. The story also is bright and entertaining, with a romantic flavor that appeals to the observer. Jeanne's love for Jacques remains true in spite of the artist's efforts to win her heart, and in spite of the fact that she thinks the sailor lad is dead. The close is a happy one. A pleasing offering. - The Moving Picture World, April 11, 1914
