I have been a Martial artist for many years now, and when I watched Final Fu I was very impressed with Ernie ReyesJr, the way he judged the competitions, and how he gave them instruction and tips of what to do, if the Martial Artist would only listen to the Instruction,They would learn a lot from Ernie Reyes Jr ,he is a true Expert of the Martial Arts that brings honor to The Art, I watched him fight on IKSA Awesome Job Ernie!, I look forward to seeing Ernie and his Dad Ernie Reyes in some more Martial arts Movies in the future. Final Fu was great but ,I think that if they let Ernie and his Dad direct a Martial Arts program that they would have a much better chance of turning out a bigger crowd to watch,(no offence to the directors)for the fact that Ernie Reyes Jr and Ernie Sr has the Experience and skills it takes to achieve what ever goal they set out to do,but thats my opinion.
I watched the show for the first time the other day after my sister told me about it. I've been a martial artist for 15 years and I'm a third degree black belt. I thought the show was very entertaining. I've read a lot of peoples mixed comments. I've found the majority of them to be negative. This is not surprising to me. In the time I've been involved with martial arts I've found that martial artists in general are highly critical creatures. I respect Ernie Reyes Jr. and his fathers work. From just the one episode that I saw I was impressed by the level of athleticism displayed by the competitors. The fights were exciting. Although I would've at the very least liked kicks to the head to be legal. But in typical MTV fashion bloodied up Ken and Barbie dolls would have tarnished their polished image. I thought the show represented traditional martial arts in an entertaining but tasteful manner. If this show inspires someone to take up martial arts where they otherwise wouldn't have, then it's positive and should be around for a long time.
It's nice to see a reality show/competition that focuses on the competition and not the drama. Give me more!! The only thing is I was hoping to see some Chinese stylists on. I know there are 3 more weeks and plenty more fighters to show up. It would be cool to see this go beyond one season, too. I haven't followed his martial arts career for some time but I do remember seeing Master Reyes in a few movies. It's amazing how much he resembles his father, now. If anyone else reads this and they agree with me please take a few minutes and let MTV know how you feel. Do the traditional stylists a favor and help rescue us from the all powerful UFC.
I was quite enthusiastic abut the premise of this show. Unfortunately it was the opposite of what a show like this should be about. A show that reflects the true meaning of what it is like to be a martial artist. Instead it is filled with clearly bias judges who seem only interested in ratings and what "they" consider to be their favorites, instead of the martial artists who truly demonstrate their proficiency in their particular martial art.
I will not watch this show again for for the promoters of this series, this is one customer, as well as her family, who will not support their products.

I found this show very entertaining and addictive. I am a martial artist myself from Master Ernie Reyes Jr's father's school. While some people seem to believe that the judges are bias from my personal experience they are judging correctly. The show is different from other "reality" show which I cannot stand. The show closely reflects the teachings of martial arts and is entertaining in general. as a martial artist I find points in the show funny and the fights are really good. There are times when I get a little upset at some of the contestants but overall the show is fantastic and I would recommend it to everyone martial artist or other wise.
