PBS Kids is preparing to teach children about the joys of jazz. A special and a series of shorts based on author Kwame Alexander’s “Acoustic Rooster” book is coming to the network in May, TheWrap has exclusively learned.

Altogether, the special and the series will feature 24 original tracks composed by Juno Award-winning jazz musician Mark McLean. They will also feature special guests such as jazz icon Herbie Hancock and renowned jazz bassist Amy Shook.

The one-hour special titled “Acoustic Rooster and His Barnyard Band” will premiere on May 1. This larger project is designed to teach children about foundational music concepts, the importance of teamwork, how creativity can help with self-expression and introduce them to jazz. GQ has published a fantastic new Charlie Cox profile which sees the actor reflect on his career and how landing the role of Matt Murdock in Daredevil turned things around for him. However, he wasn't initially on Marvel's radar for the Man Without Fear.

The actor auditioned for the role and was asked to test in Los Angeles. However, Marvel Television wanted Cox to play Foggy Nelson. "For whatever reason, having had this kind of empowering experience [spending time in the Scottish Highlands], I said, 'I will come, but I’m only reading for Matt. I’m only reading for the lead,'" he recalls.

Set in the late ’90s, “Paying for It” is a live-action adaptation of Canadian alternative-cartoonist Chester Brown’s bestselling graphic novel. In the partly autobiographical film, when Chester’s girlfriend announces she wants to explore other romantic options, Brown opts to sleep with sex workers and discovers a new kind of intimacy.

“Paying for It” is directed by multidisciplinary artist Sook-Yin Lee, who was Chester Brown’s real romantic partner when the real-life story took place.

Neil Gaiman, the best-selling fantasy author whose works have birthed several hit TV shows, has been sued for sexual assault by a woman who says he raped her multiple times while she worked for his family as a live-in nanny.

Scarlett Pavlovich, in a lawsuit filed on Monday in Wisconsin federal court, brings claims for sexual assault, battery and human trafficking, which center around allegations that he coerced her into forced sexual encounters with him as a condition of her employment. The author has a “decades-long history of sexual misconduct” as alleged by several women, many of whom have signed non-disclosure agreements, the complaint says.

The filing of the lawsuit comes in the wake of Dark Horse Comics announcing last month that it would no longer publish adaptations of Gaiman’s works after New York magazine published a cover story detailing his alleged history of sex crimes based on interviews with eight women.

Charlie Cox is undoubtedly best known for playing Matt Murdock, the blind vigilante patrolling the streets of Hell's Kitchen (not the Gordon Ramsay restaurant), New York, as Daredevil, in the appropriately titled hit series, Daredevil. Cox is set to return as Daredevil, this time with his own series in the MCU, when Daredevil: Born Again premieres this March. But, years before he wore Murdock's red suit, Cox was best known for leading a cult-classic adaptation of a beloved fantasy novel. Stardust, based on the eponymous novel by the disgraced author, Neil Gaiman, featured an all-star cast, with Cox front and center, and it's found a new streaming home.

Stardust is now streaming on Paramount+. Released in 2007 and directed by Matthew Vaughn, Stardust is a fantasy romance film following Tristan (Cox), who promises to the love of his life, Victoria (Sienna Miller), that he'll retrieve a fallen star from the magical kingdom of Stormhold.

New allegations of sexual misconduct and assault have surfaced against Neil Gaiman, the best-selling fantasy author whose books Good Omens, American Gods and The Sandman have become TV series.

On Monday, New York Magazine published a cover story titled, “There Is No Safe Word,” with writer Lila Shapiro’s piece detailing new claims against Gaiman based on interviews with eight women. This follows the July 2024 release of the Tortoise Media podcast Master, which reported earlier graphic accusations by five women against the celebrated genre writer. (Four of those women were among those who spoke for the New York Magazine piece.)

One of the claims comes from Scarlett Pavlovich, a former babysitter for Gaiman and his ex-wife Amanda Palmer, who described being sexually assaulted in February 2022 by Gaiman in New Zealand in a backyard bathtub.

Back in 2007, Neil Gaiman adaptations weren't so prolific as they are today, which means that fans of the author had to take what they could get and hope that their favorite story wouldn't be destroyed on the big screen. Fortunately, this was not the case with Stardust, a romantic fantasy movie directed by Matthew Vaughn before he took on huge franchises like X-Men and Kingsman. Directed by Kasper Barfoed, the non-English language Netflix original series follows a group of characters on the westernmost island in the Canary Islands called La Palma as they are faced with a dangerous ecological crisis. The series' combination of familial loyalty, great visual effects, and an engaging storyline has made it a hit on the streaming platform.

Although several movies and TV shows depict natural disasters, there is something unique about La Palma. The series is intriguing from its very first episode and gets better as more information is revealed. The Netflix miniseries’ cast members all give an outstanding performance and perfectly portray the fear that comes with knowing that the world might be coming to an end.

The Pokmon Go Max Out Finale event is a special in-game event that wraps up the Max Out season. This event showcases Pokmon from the Galar region, bringing in new ones and their shiny versions. The event runs from Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 10:00 Am to Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 8:00 Pm local time. A bundle of items will be available to purchase in the in-game shop during the event.

Players will earn extra experience points for successful raids, have shorter distances for hatching eggs, and can hold more Remote Raid Passes. There are special Field Research tasks related to the event that give rewards like Stardust and chances to catch event-themed Pokmon. England – Zayn Malik paid tribute to his late One Direction bandmate Liam Payne during the opening night of his Stairway to the Sky solo tour on Saturday. The show at the O2 Academy Leeds marked Malik’s first public performance since Payne’s unexpected death at age 31 last month.

On Saturday (November 23), the 31-year-old One Direction alum took opened his Stairway To The Sky Tour onstage at the O2 Academy in Leeds, England.

During the show, he performed songs that spanned the length of his solo career. He ended the evening with an emotional tribute to his One Direction bandmate Liam Payne, who tragically passed away in October.

Obscura have announced their new album, A Sonication, arriving February 7th via Nuclear Blast Records. The opening track and lead single “Silver Linings” is out now.
