The Toxic Avenger's official trailer offers a closer look at the backstory behind Peter Dinklage's titular anti-hero. The new unrated movie from Bloody Disgusting stars Dinklage as Winston, a janitor who becomes a mutated superhero, Toxie, in a chemical incident. Alongside Jacob Tremblay, Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Taylour Paige, and many others, the reboot movie will come to theaters on August 25.

Shared by IGN, the uncensored Toxic Avenger trailer unveils Toxie's unconventional hero backstory, who lost his wife and is responsible for taking care of his stepson. However, unlike traditional heroes, Winston isn't too keen to get himself involved in other people's business until a chemical incident turns him into Toxie. As seen in the trailer, Toxie decides to take action and defend himself, which leads to him leaving a bloody trail behind. Check out the trailer below:

As most Troma fans know, The Toxic Avenger Part II and The Toxic Avenger Part III were originally written and shot as one movie, but directors Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz ended up with so much footage that they broke it up into two installments.

36 years years later, the filmmakers’ initial vision for the sequel has been reconstructed under its original title, Mr. Melvin.

Andrew L. Miller, Kaufman’s assistant, and Adam Peltier, star of Troma’s upcoming film The Power of Positive Murder, unearthed the original script and edited footage from the two films together as originally intended.

Collider unveiled the new look at The Toxic Avenger that reveals Toxie trying to keep a low profile. In the film, Winston (Peter Dinklage), a down-on-his-luck janitor, is transformed into the radioactive hero Toxie (Luisa Guerreiro) after a freak accident. Armed with his mop, he battles freaks, gangsters, and corrupt CEOs while trying to save his relationship with his son Wade, played by the acclaimed Jacob Tremblay. Marvel Studios recently announced the cast of Avengers: Doomsday by unveiling their on-set chairs with their names printed on the back. None of the actors listed will be making their debut in Avengers: Doomsday. In fact, the only character that is not scheduled to attend any project prior to Doomsday is Doctor Doom himself, played by the original Marvel Cinematic Universe star, Robert Downey Jr.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is still ahead of us, so it is possible Downey Jr. may emerge before Doomsday comes out. All of the other named actors are playing heroes, anti-heroes, or at the very least, a redeemed adversary. If they haven’t yet appeared in Marvel media, they all will by the time Avengers: Doomsday releases on May 1, 2026.

The event even featured a first look at the official Halloween mask being released by Trick or Treat Studios this year!

Based on Macon Blair’s The Toxic Avenger, this upcoming mask from Trick or Treat Studios was developed directly from screen used material, and is anticipated to ship Late 2025.

Avengers: Doomsday is currently in pre-production and is reportedly set to become one of the most expensive MCU films in the multiverse saga. Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avenger movies. The latest report has revealed how much Marvel has spent on the film so far and how much it is speculated to cost. It will reportedly be double the cost of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quatumania, aka Ant-Man 3. Keep scrolling for the deets.

Doomsday will be the fifth film in the Avengers franchise, directed by the Russo brothers, Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. Apart from Rdj, none of the cast members have been confirmed yet. The movie tells the story of a janitor named Winston Gooze who, after falling into toxic waste, evolves into the eponymous Toxic Avenger. The new version of the horror comedy features a star-studded leading cast including Dinklage, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, Kevin Bacon, and Taylour Paige. The movie initially premiered at Fantastic Fest in September 2023 but now has distribution for this summer, opening on August 29.

New images have revealed the best look yet at the new Toxie. Starring Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage, the reboot of The Toxic Avenger is coming to theaters on Aug. 29, 2025.

Previously, very little had been revealed from the remake. The only shot that's been released of Toxie was from behind the character, keeping his appearance mostly a mystery. Per Entertainment Weekly, that has changed with brand-new images released of the new Toxie. Check out the new photos below.

In the film, Dinklage plays Winston Gooze, a chemical factory janitor who becomes transformed into a monstrous mutant after a freak industrial accident. He uses his newfound superhuman strength to become a vigilante, targeting the town's criminals. Troma founder, Toxic Avenger creator and B-movie legend Lloyd Kaufman is the subject of the new book Lloyd Kaufman: Interviews, edited by Mathew Klickstein. The book, which consists of interviews with Kaufman’s dating from 1981 to the present, is filled with insight into the man and his outrageous movies. “Mickey 17,” a dystopian sci-fi comedy starring a dozen Robert Pattinsons, was No. 1 at the domestic box office with $19.1 million from 3,807 theaters. But the Warner Bros. film cost $118 million, a staggering price for an original, offbeat space odyssey — and the kind of swing for the fence that could require a few lifetimes to turn a theatrical profit.

Critics and audiences were mixed on the R-rated “Mickey 17,” whose “B” grade on CinemaScore and 79% on Rotten Tomatoes aren’t encouraging for the film’s staying power. It’s a concern because “Mickey 17,” which cost another $80 million to market, needs to earn around $275 million to $300 million globally to get into the black during its big screen run, according to rival executives with knowledge of similar productions.

Internationally, “Mickey 17” brought in $25.4 million from 66 territories. The film opened last weekend in South Korea and has grossed $34.2 million overseas and $53.3 million worldwide in total.

“Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” is nearing a sweet box office benchmark with the fourth installment in the love-struck film franchise about to surpass $75 million overseas.

“Bridget Jones 4,” starring Renée Zellweger as the titular heroine, added a solid $19.2 million over the weekend from 73 international markets for a tally of $72.9 million. Those ticket sales are higher than the three prior “Bridget Jones” films as well as 2022’s Julia Roberts and George Clooney-led “Ticket to Paradise” at the same point in their theatrical cycles, according to distributor Universal Pictures. The $50 million-budgeted film debuted on Peacock in the United States.

For context, 2001’s “Bridget Jones’s Diary” earned $262 million internationally while its sequels, 2004’s “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” and 2016’s “Bridget Jones’s Baby” generated $224 million and $187 million overseas, respectively. Meanwhile, “Ticket to Paradise” earned $100 million overseas. With all of these romantic-comedies, foreign ticket sales accounted for at least 60% and as much as 89% of overall revenues.

Paging Sam Wilson! “Captain America: Brave New World” flies to cinemas over the weekend, and Marvel’s latest adventure hopes to thaw an icy box office.

“Captain America: Brave New World,” in which Anthony Mackie’s Avenger takes over the star-spangled shield from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, is targeting $80 million to $85 million over the traditional weekend and $90 million to $95 million through the Presidents Day holiday. The tentpole, which cost north of $180 million before marketing, is landing in roughly 4,100 North American theaters.
