despite the filmmakers desperate attempt at an art film, 'dive' plays more like a boring example of how not to make a decent short. predictable plot, no interesting characters, yawn-inducing dialogue...i could go on. it might have been better if they had accepted that it was a b-movie and played up it's pulp. instead of embracing the genre convictions, every character in the short looks like a reject from an interpol video. and they're playing gangsters and cops? spare me. trying to look cool has never come off so dorky. perhaps they should have titled it "wannabe hipster film nerds attempting to show off". i don't think i've hated a movie this much since 'things to do in denver when you're dead'. apparently it won some local awards. yeah. 'a beautiful mind' won a bunch of awards too. so much for that theory. this short is a chore to watch. f-

    We are but humble filmmakers...

    Little did we know...

The internet fiends paid us a little visit by way of the 'user comments' section of IMDb. Here's what one viewer has said regarding our film, "Dive." "despite the filmmakers desperate attempt at an art film, 'dive' plays more like a boring example of how not to make a decent short. predictable plot, no interesting characters, yawn-inducing dialogue...i could go on. it might have been better if they had accepted that it was a b-movie and played up it's pulp. instead of embracing the genre convictions, every character in the short looks like a reject from an interpol video. and they're playing gangsters and cops? spare me. trying to look cool has never come off so dorky. perhaps they should have titled it "wannabe hipster film nerds attempting to show off". i don't think i've hated a movie this much since 'things to do in denver when you're dead'. apparently it won some local awards. yeah. 'a beautiful mind' won a bunch of awards too. so much for that theory. this short is a chore to watch. f- " ...and so... what do we... Theater 7 think of these 'aggressive' comments? Kudos to you ... internet savvy film critic. You've nailed us. We are but lowly scum that know nothing of the so-called "film-making process." We humbly apologize for our fantastic blunder of a film. Although, I am curious as to how you, our most-praise-worthy viewer, have come to see our little film. It only played at the 48 Hour Film Project Atlanta Best Of Festival Screening. Perhaps you are a fellow film-maker... anxious to prove yourself in the same vain as we? Perhaps your film was screened at the same time and place as ours and did not receive any such accolades? Far be it from we... what was it? Oh yes ... "wannabe hipster film nerds" to gloat over or promote such an atrocious film. On the contrary, we pitifully incompetent band of miscrients view our film not as an award-winning triumph, but rather a cautionary tale to others who might follow in our footsteps. We must make ammends to you. We must do right by you... as we seem to have wasted such a valuable amount of your time. So... in our most humble and charitable manor we.... TELL YOU TO FIND A LIFE SUITABLE TO YOUR INCESSANT BLOG SQUABBLE WHEREBY YOU CAN RANT AND RAVE OVER THE WEIGHT AND SUBSTANCE OF A CHOICE PILE OF DOG FECES YOU BUZZ-KILLING TERD! Sincerely, Theater 7 Productions Your most humble band of local guerilla filmmakers.

BE WELL!!! PS - We love your work... send more.
