Who would think that a movie about hallucinogens could be so boring

When making a movie about LSD or people using LSD, think about your audience. What do they want to see? They'd probably like bright colors and cool patterns, funny weird stuff happening, people dancing, kooky plot twists, maybe a little dark and scary at times, or social commentary about the pros and cons of drug use or how altered states can change the society or raise questions about what is real. You know, anything worth sitting through. Well this movie lacked all that and then some. There was hardly any plot. Our protagonist is a long haired (metal, not hippie) loser who is in a bunch of scenes talking and sometimes there's other people there too. He goes to jail at one point. There's some women in not much clothing on several occasions. The trippiest scenes in this movie consisted of a cg ripple filter added on top of the film while people talked. (In reality, it looks like this was filmed on a digital camera and not actual film). There's also a scene where a couple cg sharks come out of a toilet. That's it. The main character was very unlikable, he treats women with no respect (and most of the male characters as well), is a jerk to his girlfriens and makes a few homophobic comments. Also, apparently Bill Zebub decided it was better to get lots of shots of women in lingerie bouncing around in slow motion than to give the characters lines some thought.

This movie is NOT groovy. It is a misogynistic and narcissistic directorial doodle on a cocktail napkin. Based on the script and the fact that the director is the main character, I would assume that he got the idea for this movie by fantasizing about himself in various porno movie plots without the confidence it would take to actually make that movie. The ONLY female character in this movie that doesn't slut it up for our 'auteur' here is his negatively depicted mother (whom he lives with)

Supernaut: The History of Bad Acid

The acid is just fine, but I really gotta say something about that acting. I am quite familiar with some of the most obscure, low-budget cult classics in existence. Classics such as Blood Freak, Troll 2, and even Gore-met Zombie Chef From Hell. I've practically seen them all. Most of these disasterpieces have mainly one thing in common. That's right, bad acting. Now, I've given this some thought, and I seriously can't think of one single movie I've ever seen with worse acting than in Bill Zebub's Bad Acid. Positively atrocious, I mean, I've really seen it all, now. Now, that that's out of the way, here's the part where I explain exactly how little "quality" acting means to me.

Acting? Who in their right mind worries about stuff like that? Is that why we watch stuff like this? I don't believe it is. Besides, this Bill Zebub fellow was obviously too busy making this movie a hysterical masterpiece to even think about insignificant details like... LOL, acting. Normally, when an LSD experience is portrayed on film, everything just looks like a cartoon, which is an easy thing to pull off, yet, not at all accurate. Finally, someone gives us an accurate portrayal of what life on acid is really like. Bill Zebub plays a guy who just can't get enough acid. As you could imagine, being so fond of something so completely insane, at times, can make life a tad inconvenient.

Anyway, Bill walks around like some kind of paranoid mad man, constantly hoping that he's not doing anything to attract the attention of any cops, who might, or might not be near by. You never can be too sure. Bill's acid-induced phobia of the pigs (among other things) only brings on more complications, and in LSD-land, even the most minor complication can be a flat-out nightmare, literally!! Bill's personal and professional life is starting to suffer, due to thoughtlessness, but he means well, honest, but the acid. I mean, can't a dude just have a mind-bending trip on a daily basis without getting hassled by real life?

I was only recently introduced to the world of Bill Zebub, and I gotta say, I am impressed to no end. Aside from being an awesome acid movie, it's also a hilariously bold, dark-comedy, and, once again, that acting really gives you something to think about. Bill Zebub obviously put a lot of thought and care into every little detail of this movie (besides the obvious). If insane LSD humor doesn't interest you, I see no reason why this Z-grade comedy would either. Perhaps one of Zebub's other efforts will catch your eye. I would also recommend The Worst Horror Movie Ever Made, that is, unless you don't like bad Horror. In that case, to hell with it. 6/10

Great movie by an underrated genius

All of Bill Zebub's movies are great, primarily his comedies. He is really good at forming complex intertwining plots that seem rather simple at a glance. Bad Acid is no different. It is the tale of an acid addict who goes on a series of horrible LSD trips. The results are rather comedic and the laughs are in abundance.

The film chronicles Bill Zebub's weekend while he is tripping on "bad acid". Not only does he have to deal with the horrors that the drug bring him, but he has to manage a radio show, his girlfriend and his boss. Bill loves to go around partying but his girlfriend wants him to spend more time with her which gets Bill into a lot of trouble and eventually risks losing everything with his habit.

Great soundtrack too. The tunes never stop, and that's a good thing because they're all fantastic numbers by the likes of Shape of Despair, Immolation, The Wicked, Korovakill, Thy Surpent, Bethlehem and Mercyful Fate.

The acting is generally better than people say because the movie is scripted just like the language of "normal people" which makes a nice realistic flow for the movie.

I've seen on too many reviews for Zebub's movies people denoting the movie because of the quality of film and budget. These people are close minded and can't extract the greatness from these films.

Of course this film is not for everybody, but fans of B-List crude rude and appalling comedies will rejoice when seeing this movie. Good job Bill Zebub!
