    A Gem of a Sport

Gil de Kermadec and tennis Danish legend Torben Ulrich made this documentary about backboards and walls. They interview many tennis greats (including Laver, Navratilova, and Lendl) about their experiences hitting off a backboard. Classically many tennis legends practiced using the backboard which is an underutilized teaching aid today.

Gil has produced some high quality films for FFT (Fédération Française de Tennis) and Torben is not only a tennis player but a poet, jazz musician, etc. Naturally this gem of a documentary is simply brilliant. The last few minutes are a creative treasure as Torben Ulrich is brilliant (I won't say what happens). From a historical point, this film is invaluable to the sport of tennis.

A must for every tennis player !

Torben's geniality has produced so many unique achievements, on and off the courts, during his lifetime! Each of these will be revered for years and years to come!

"The Wall" is certainly one of his greatest creations and a true master-piece. From the simplest component in tennis development, Torben managed to create the most complex cast of contributors ever assembled in tennis.

Every tennis player, regardless of age, gender and level, should embrace the lighthearted and yet profound lessons (typical of his geniality) of his work in La Balle Au Mur.
