    Full of giggles.

So far I haven't seen a movie like this. A movie that is funny and maintaining originality at the same time. Have you seen a movie like this? I don't think so.

I watched this before I turned the ripe old age to legally drink and party, and let's just say that without this movie, I would definitely be the girl crying on the steps and I'm a guy.

Despite the full frontal nudity of illicit drugs, it deserves a kudos because of its gonad kicking ability to society by showing the true fact that these things happen in life. The movie title itself is basically what the movie is all about, 'getting down'. It isn't meant to offend people, it isn't meant to encourage people. Its soul purpose (in my opinion) is to say "Don't turn the blind eye because this s*** goes down at parties".

I wouldn't go to far to say that this is the way of life. I'm just trying to say that this movie does capture that wild side and puts it on the big screen and shows you angels what it's like on the other side.

    Great movie

One of the most originally hilarious movies I'd seen in a long time. From rating other movies I'd seen, this was a recommendation and I took a chance on it. I watched it probably 20 times in the course of 2 weeks with different groups of friends, none said one bad thing about it. One of my friends actually went online and bought it. For a movie that has no A B or C list actors, I thought it was great.

The mockumentary style of presenting 'How to get down' was well played. You can't take the movie seriously or you will be disappointed, it's not a real guide. Enjoy the fun at pokes at this lifestyle, and it might help if you are / were someone who parties, so that you can relate to the movie. People really are like this.

Like a Traffic School Movie for Party Goers

Seriously, every college student/random young adult, planning on coming to party in South Beach ( or LA or NYC ) should view this film. It's a serious look at the party " do and don't " list.

Basic party manners and how to avoid the pitfalls of everyone not wanting you to come to the next party are contained.

View it with the same mind that had to sit through the stupid movies in traffic school. It's not meant to be anything but a guide. I don't think the characters were supposed to evolve. They set out with basic characters that the viewer could identify with ( at least one of them for each viewer ). They put them in a party situation and allowed each to stay in that environment with the aide of the guide.

If you're viewing hoping to get an academy award performance from a virtually unknown cast of party peeps in LA - you're out of luck. If you'd like to go and party like a rock-star, take notes. Nothing worse in a party than someone who has no class or party savvy.

    My favorite "Documentary"

This is a very unique film. It never takes itself too seriously yet it does divulge some honest and true information all the way through. It is filled with great humor and some mediocre acting, but overall, a very enjoyable movie. It starts rough, but once it gets to the first voice over after the first set of characters are introduced, it never stops being informafunny. You might learn a thing or two, or just laugh, either way, it should be enjoyable.

    Go & Get Down

Disclosure: I don't use drugs (Okay, fine, alcohol/cigarettes, but specifically referring to the pot/cocaine in the film) and after watching 'The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down,' I'm curious to see if this is just a comedic guide to using, or what actually occurs. And curious enough only to learn about the latter. Having less exposure to the (fill in the blank) guide shorts of decades past, and more on the guides examined/ridiculed on 'MST3k,' I thought this movie was hilarious. I loved the fact it didn't do a straight up remake of the guide films, but it showed one long night of partying and how to conduct yourself. Sort of a spoof off of one of my favorite films, 'Go,' 'Boys and Girls' explored everything from getting to the hot/not spots, what to do when partying, uh, getting down, and how to make your exit. Years past since I hit these types of scenes/clubs, and since I never was a user, I was so oblivious to drug usage, someone could've been doing a line in front of me, and I would've probably asked them why they just didn't put their sugar in their tea instead of their nose. So, it just leads me to wonder… how much of the movie is true. (Yes, I am stating my – happily – ignorance.) Either way, it's a hilarious effort, original and hopefully, most people won't be taking it seriously enough to use this as their 'guide.'
