Finlayson succeeds with this film where supposed 'giants' of cinema have faltered. The pain and drama of Citizen Kane becomes a high-pitched squeal of simpering pathos compared to the inexhaustible depths of profundity each frame, each cut, each furtive squirt of blood -- conveys! The sombre and melancholic mood of A Space Oddyssey turns into the whine of a banal and indulgent bourgeois daydream -- against the deep and questioning silence of The Walkers. Oh with what power, subtlety, and masterful restraint does Finlayson convey the starkest, barren and paralyzed depths of human misery. An anguished and solemn dirge for a bygone age, a crippled dream, and all that man could ever, perhaps, have been, this film - oh this film! - is an experience unlike any other. It will change you... but no! Do not see it! I fear, it may be too much!
So these two bank robbers get lost in the woods and a sheriff and a newer cop pair up to go into the woods after them. It's all good except the woods turn out to be evil. Predictable horror ensues. Deserves a 5, bumping up to 7 because I know someone in this and the rating is too low right now. What do people expect from this low budget movie perfection? Lighten up people.
