Okay, so it IS pretty bad...

Okay so the show is pretty bad, but I have to credit them for trying. It has to be quite difficult starting a network, both financially and otherwise...that's why they have no name hosts instead of some big time names. I wish the lesbian was less of a stereotypical "bulldyke." I know they are still around, but aren't they a bit of a dying breed? Why not bring in a modern lesbian who isn't so angry all the time. I do like the young guy, but he isn't on enough. I haven't watched in quite a while, but saw a bunch of postings and figured I would put in my 2 cents. OH, and speaking of agendas...I like how the one poster accused the other of having an agenda and then shamelessly promotes the network, very silly! Maybe they will turn things around.

    Pretty darn bad...

Unlike a couple of posters on here I don't know much about TV production, but I DO know BAD TV when I see it. It might be the only show of its kind, but I think that is a good thing considering how unwatchable it is. I couldn't even make it through a half hour. A gay and lesbian talk show should be something different, this tries to be just like every other bad talk show just with a gay twist. I would totally watch a show like this if it was good, but as it is its pretty darn bad. One of the guys on the show said a couple of funny things, but overall I can't see this show lasting long, although there are a lot of really bad shows on TV so who knows.

On Q Live, top quality and cutting edge ........

The poster who posted their review here about the new television show called On Q Live on the new gay and lesbian network, Q Television, seems to have some kind of agenda against this new network. From all accounts of people i talk to regarding this new show it is 100% professional, entertaining, interesting and informative about the gay and lesbian community. Q Television is doing something that no other gay and lesbian network is even attempting at this time, its groundbreaking! A live 3 hour talk show every weeknight focusing on various issues affecting the gay and lesbian community. There is no show on any network like it! Q Television is here to stay imo and not only will On Q Live be a huge part of that but also Q Television's new morning talk show called "Brunch at Q" starting in September will make these two live programs a one-two punch imo.

On Q Live is a refreshing, entertaining, funny and thought provoking show on all things gay...

I have to say I completely disagree with the previous review. I watch On Q Live most nights, and although the production quality was a little iffy early on, its now seamless, and very professional. Doing 2.5 hours of live programming every night is no easy feat. Believe me, I have worked in the entertainment industry and i know how much work and prep has to be done for something like this, and to pull it off in the professional manner that these people continue to do on a daily basis is nothing short of incredible. The hosts, Chrisanne, jack, Cassian etc really keep the pace moving along with sometimes hilarious views and opinions on whatever is happening right now in gaydom! This truly deserves to be the flagship show on Q Television, and sits amongst many other great shows. I cant think of any other place where anyone from the GLBT community is as well served. It is about time our voice was heard, and listened to and WATCHED, and that time is now.

This show is a disgrace to television as well as homosexuality

As a member of the gay community as well as a veteran of TV and film with over 15 years of production experience, I was initially very excited to hear about Q Live and the Network (especially since it was produced locally). When I found out that I couldn't even see the show (not even with satellite) in TX, I was a little confused. Why would they produce a show somewhere that people couldn't even see it. Upon actually seeing it, I understood why. I had a friend from NY send me tapes of the show, and I must say that I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. Actually disappointed doesn't quite sum it up. I was INSULTED...and I can't even decide if I'm more insulted as a homosexual or a production professional. Not only is every aspect of this show done with less production value than some of the local cable access shows and high school A/V programs (they couldn't get through a segment without countless production flaws), but the content couldn't be worse. This show neither entertains NOR informs. It does nothing other than spend a ridiculous 2.5 hours perpetuating gay and lesbian stereotypes in a boring, tasteless, and unintelligent manner. You would think that a show this shallow would at least have some eye-candy as hosts, but they're almost as hideous to look at as they are unbearable to listen to. Taffett is incapable of developing an original thought of his own, while Eastwood's abrasive and pseudo-intellectual lesbian tirades make for some of the worst television I've seen in years. I felt like I was getting "stupider" watching this show...and then to find out that the GLBT community is expected to PAY A MONTHLY FEE to see this network centerpiece!...Well Q, you must think we are pretty stupid and desperate. I know a great number of gays and lesbians that have worked hard to produce quality programming. This show gives a bad name to us and all that we have accomplished. After watching this show, viewers will want their money AND the 2 and a half hours of their lives back. It's almost enough to make me want to go straight!
