Ek Nari Do Roop review :

A Shatrughan Sinha production; Ek Nari Do Roop is a crime thriller loosely inspired from James Hadley Chase novel 'The Wary Transgressor'.

Shatrughan aka Shotgun Sinha plays a local guide who catches the eye of a rich married lady (Rashmi Dhawan) and both end up having a torrid affair. Rashmi then invites Shotgun to her home in Uran (near Mumbai) to work as a caretaker of her paralysed husband (Iftekar). They continue their secret affair until one day, Rashmi discloses her sinister plan of bumping off her handicapped hubby and seeks help from Shatru to do the needful. In the meanwhile, her step daughter Asha Sachdev enters the picture and Shotgun falls in love with her...

The story and screenplay were quite unique and bold for the early '70s which may have been one of the reasons why the audience outright rejected the film. A young Shotgun showed sparks of his swag which led to his future stardom. Radhika got a plum role and nailed it. It remains her memorable act ever. The sexy Asha Sachdev had a small role in the second half of the film yet she left her mark.

To sum up, Ek Nari Do Roop has its thrilling moments and deserves a dekho even today. Shotgun fans cant afford to miss it!!

A bold movie for the 70s . Rashmi Dhawan gets a meaty role . She meets Shatrughan mysteriously and he falls for her charm . He is a tourist guide with average lifestyle . As they become intimate , she promises him a better life and a job in a nearby island . Intrigued , he follows her. He realises that she is the rich young wife of an invalid musician - Iftekar.

She has hired him to kill her husband and daily makes a special plan to this effect. Nadira , the nurser is devoted and is aware of her devious plans . Achla Sachdev. Rashmi's step daughter comes from abroad and innocently falls for him . MadanPuri. As Rashmi's ex lover fills the plot . A lot of plots and sub plots later , Shatrughan gets a change of heart and refuses to join her devious plans . He is united with Achla in the end as Rashmi dies . A taunt thriller . A lot of scenes are shot in boats, islands , seas . Achla looks cute as a button in her small role . Rashmi is equally at least in chiffon sarees with butter fly bouses, or mini skirts or figure hugging maxis . Over all a fine movie .

A film with an unusal plot and bold situations for its time; maybe that is why it could not impress the people. It is worth watching for its suspenseful story and for Shatru's and Iftekhar's impressive performance and of course for the song "Dil ka soona saaz".
