And I will say that writers Sommai Lertulan and Yongyoot Thongkongtoon definitely managed to put together a script and storyline that was rather enjoyable. The story was well-written and immediately caught my interest, and never let go before the movie came to an end. There is an abundance of funny situations and good laughs throughout the course of the movie. And the characters and their dialogue was also nicely written and constructed. So it was a wholesome movie actually.
They had a great cast ensemble for "M. A. I. D.", and the four women that played the lead roles really carried the movie phenomenally with their performances. These actresses put on good portrayals of their characters and really had a knack for comedy.
If you enjoy Asian comedies, and if you happen to get a chance to watch "M. A. I. D." then you certainly should do so. I found this 2004 movie to be genuinely and wholeheartedly funny and entertaining.
My rating of "M. A. I. D." lands on a six out of ten stars.
This movie reminded me of some silent comedies of the late 1910's or early 1920's. Reading subtitles may have contributed. A lot of slapstick both physical and verbal. A lot is very funny, while some is incredibly stupid. The story is relatively weak and exists to put some context to the next gag or joke.
The cast is split, with some very good and others hopefully found a different career. The script is really just a bunch of situations to fit a gag or junk. Sometimes things went too far into the ridiculous.
I enjoyed this movie although at times it could be so stupid things to was annoying to watch. I still recommend it.
