      Rubbish

I've seen a lot of horror movies. Big budget and low budget. Some with very good ideas, some without any ideas. But this flick, hum, in fact, AVOID THIS MOVIE !!!! Spend your money, and buy a second copy of DAY OF THE DEAD. If you prefer some B- or C-movies, then buy some Italian zombie pictures. This movie doesn't have any value. Effects : what effects ??? even MakeUp FX are cheaper than cheap. When they shoot their guns, nothing happens. the "actors" shake it, so they look like their "shooting". The city is overrun with zombies, but you don't see a lot. And their are too many people in the streets, walking and wondering what the heck those guys doing with their cameras. "Bad Taste" was also a very cheap movie, but director Peter Jackson knows how to DIRECT a movie, wrote a movie and CAN act. Not suitable for anybody, even for trash movie fans .

Great movie with too little money

Well, what can I say when I am myself the director and the producer? Honestly, I know the movie could have been so much better...if we had had the right budget. The problem was that we had a great story but not the minimum required resources, but we insisted in making the movie. On the good side, let's say that it's a great movie since we depicted the zombie invasion of my hometown (Sevilla, in the south of Spain), the best way it was possible with so little money and resources. On the not-so-good side, of course, it helped me realize that sometimes, even if you have a great passion for anything, you must wait a little longer until raising the right funds. I just hope that people see it, taking care of the big effort and great and hard work done behind the cameras. I think the production design was a great job in this movie and the make up as well. The worst part was the sound, I have to admit it, it was my first feature and independent film and I had a lot of things to learn yet. However, the plot is awesome: the zombies are invading a beautiful city and somebody has to take care of the city, that's how the Deadhunter appears on the scene. They are a tactic squad trained to fight, hunt and kill (again) the living dead. As a proof of my words, you can try and take a look to my other Deadhunter movies, and you'll see that we did a bit better every time.

The beginning of a talented filmmaker

As far as I know, "Deadhunter: Sevillian Zombies" was intended to be a short, but nonetheless Julian Lara decided to make it into a feature film.

Sometimes if you don't have the resources to do what you want to do, you better don't do it, but all my credit to Julian for pushing himself to that hard and inglorious task that is directing a movie without the budget or the resources required.

You can easily tell how hard he tried to accomplish his own mission of directing, producing, writing and even acting, but, somehow, in the end, ten years later, "Deadhunter" is a cult movie in Spain.

However, you must definitely check his last zombie flick out, the one titled "Till Death Do Us Part", where you could see how he improved his directing skills after graduating at The Los Angeles Film School.
