Gôzo Alucinante

Initially conceived as yet another erotic project by filmmaker Jean Garret, this is, in fact, the director's first sexually explicit film, and the only one he directed without a pseudonym. Without a doubt, the film conveys the feeling of being a project necessarily adapted to the explicit demands of the audiences of the time. The Golden Age of adult cinema was coming to an end, but small gems were still appearing on the American continent. "Gôzo Alucinante" is one of them, an incredibly developed film for the genre in question, and with a not inconsiderable production investment. Its plot is circumscribed by quintessential erotica, and explores surprisingly entertaining themes and fantasies for a basically pornographic film. The final plot twist, although quite obvious, must have surprised many at the time.
