    Romance by the water.

I enjoyed the story. It's romantic and fascinating. I was impressed by the images and the initial confusion of the story line. I don't think it's possible to find this movie on DVD. But its quality is superb. I totally understood what the character of Hannah went through. It's a little sad and a bit romantic, but I wouldn't say more just in case you came across it. I never got to know where it was shot. It looks like there's a lake, but it's hard to figure it out. I also enjoyed the train part, in which the guy -the person she's infatuated with- seems to ignore her. I thought the two actors were perfect for the parts. Very interesting movie.

    Very interesting short.

I happened to see this movie at a festival a few years ago. It was probably the best short I saw that day. I still remember the beautiful locations that played as a background for the fantasy part. I would actually need to see it again, but the photography really impressed me. Besides the beauty of those scenarios, the male actor didn't hurt the eyes, either. It's almost unbelievable I found this flick on this website. I only wanted the film to be longer, although I thought that it made its point within the time limits. The title is very interesting as well, because it is open to interpretations. The ending, then, has a very twisted "game" in it. That, too, up to personal views.

    A sensible story.

This is one of the best shorts I've seen so far. The film (although slightly confusing at the beginning) discloses the director's ability (Randall Good) to tell a story that involves a woman's point of view. He shows sensibility and understanding. The film is certainly a great trip into the woman's mind and her desire to establish a relationship with a stranger on a train. Great moments and a funny ending make a very pleasant cinematic experience. Also, the two leading characters seemed very awkward with each other when being on the island, which gives an atmosphere of total discomfort; something that we all can relate to. At least all of us women...

    Great film!

I also recommend the film "Shower" from the same director.

    Sad and Beautiful

This is a sad, strange film that a lot of women (including myself) can probably relate to. I thought the cinematography was perfectly suited to the movie's theme. I enjoyed the dichotomy of the cold New York train against bright sunny images at a lake. It is an excellent representation of anonymous unrequited love and the kinds of romantic fantasy lives many of us secretly indulge in . The main actors were both superb. Hannah ("the girl from the train") was perfectly cast as a dreamy wallflower. Her voice over narrations are particularly good. "The man from the train" is gorgeous to begin with and so it's not hard to understand why Hannah turns him into her fantasy. I was struck by his warmth and charm during the lake scenes in contrast to his almost polite aloofness during the scene's on the train. All in all a great (but too short) psychological study in loneliness and perception. Certainly recommend it.

    Cute, well told story.

When I saw this movie I was attending a festival in Virginia. It made a big impression on me because the images were shot with a certain lightness. Its intimacy and dreamlike dimension perfectly fit the fantasy that the woman (played by Tamara Luwisky) is living. She fantasizes about a young, beautiful man (played by Francesco Cura') who, in reality, seems to ignore her. The acting between the two is very real an subtle, ranging from serious moments to comedic flashes. The location offers astonishing views over blue waters, in which the sexy "Paolo"-that's the name of the male lead character- swims. The director (Randall Good) shows particular sensibility that reminds of Lars Von Trier in many ways. Also, the editing is very well done. Not to mention the train scene between the two. I only wished for a more sexual tension in the relationship.

      Hannah: Hey... Sorry.

[waving in front of his face while he's listening to music sitting on a train seat]

      Paolo: Yeah?

Hannah: I found this on the train yesterday... I don't know if this is your book.

      Paolo: Yeah... thanks.

Hannah: [not knowing what to say] Yeah, it's a really great book.

      Paolo: Yeah, it's good. Thanks!

      [looking down, almost bothered]
