Jamie is a young boy looking for love of his mother. But the woman, against her good intentions, can be near him ,in real sense, reducting her affection to noble gestures. She is drug addicted, depends by her boyfriend and her will is in connection with his interests.
And Neil, the boyfriend, violent, rude, manipulative, seems the boy as obstacle in the relation with woman. So, the naturalist murder attempt is not so surprising.
But the boy reacts . His revenge is precise and works at symbolic to effective level.
