The best new show on cable!

Holy sweet apple pie I laughed my tootsies off after watching the premiere episode. Hilarious! I would pay $8.50 to see Croc Park (the film they faked) in the movie theaters without a doubt. I loved every time the fakers would look into the camera and break the fourth wall. The show is funny, cool, and dangerous! I'm so sick of some smarmy host coming out and making people eat animal privates or jump off of a boat or choose someone to marry (but not really). This is the perfect mix of reality show with comedy show.

It's like the Larry Sanders Show for late night if Hank Kingsley thought they were really making a talk show! I definitely suggest you watch Filmfakers. I can't wait for the next episode.

The Kind of Show You'd Love To Work On

I feel sorry for all the film buffs and reality TV fans that never knew about the series existence. This series was a joyride. It appeals to that little demon that exists inside (most of)us that enjoys a good practical joke with no harm done. If anything, it gave the actors who were duped better exposure than the actual films ever could have. I tried to spread the word on my Reality TV site but couldn't drum up the interest. Too bad. Anyone who did tune in wrote to thank me for the recommendation. I hope the series gets picked up for another season. I read an interview with the producer where he outlined his plans for the next six. There is a bottomless well of film-styles to be "mocked" and unsuspecting, aspiring actors who are prepared to do anything for their big break. It's not as if there was any harm done (except perhaps to a few egos!) THe cast and crew did a phenomenal job and kept things fresh while attacking each new project with glee. My only complaint was that nobody invited me to play along. I'd be happy to make coffee and bake fresh danish each morning for a chance to be in on the fun! I stopped posting my recaps after the third episode because we only got about 50 hits but continued writing them for my own entertainment. That is a testament to how much fun I had!

    Pretty funny show

I don't even recall what prompted me to record this program. I normally don't even look at shows outside of Comedy Central and the History Channel. Well, I recorded it, but I didn't even watch it until a week later. Based on the reviews here, I wonder if the show has any buzz going for it.

This show needs some positive reviews, the existing positive reviews are most likely shill reviews, and the negative reviews don't do the show justice. Now, the episode I watched was about the making of the movie Mukashi Code, and I think they held the balance between what the actors will accept and what would give the joke away. Basing the movie on a crazy Japanese show gives them a lot of leeway to create ridiculous, but just barely plausible, situations.

I agree with the reviewer who said they talk too much to the viewer about how funny everything is, and how "they aren't making a movie, they are faking a movie". They probably do this because the show is new and they want to make things clear to viewer, and maybe hammer home a tag line.

Oh, and Chris Wylde looks like some Chris Eliot/Jake Busey mutation. He does think he is hilarious, and while he isn't, he is good in his role.

For a nice twist in the series, and to keep things fresh, they should involve the previously pranked actors to play roles in upcoming episodes.
