A few days ago, the horror community was shaken when news broke about Saw XI possibly being canceled. While the information was vague, the unknown source sadly reported this with afair amount of certainty. Now, one of the film's writers has shared more details about the possible cancellation while also revealing plot details about the latest sequel in the Saw franchise. Apparently, John Kramer was going to help frustrated citizens fight whatever they needed to fight against.
Writing partners Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan have been involved with the Saw franchise since Saw IV, with the duo carving out a horror career that expanded to other franchises like Feast and The Collector. Returning as screenwriters for Saw XI, the pair seem like the perfect fit for the upcoming film, but as it turns out, they may not have been, as the project may have been canceled. A Feast for Crows is the fourth book as-yet-unfinished A Song of Ice and Fire series, famously adapted by HBO as Game of Thrones. Writing on Facebook, Martin announced that a new illustrated edition is on the way to mark the 20th anniversary of the book's release. Featuring 24 full-color illustrations from Jeffrey R. McDonald, the book will be out on November 4.

George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series has long been praised for its intricate storytelling, complex characters, and unpredictable narrative twists. One of the most intriguing behind-the-scenes decisions George R.R. Martin made was his initial plan to include a five-year time jump after A Storm of Swords.

Had Martin proceeded with the time jump, it could have significantly altered the television adaptation. The decision to abandon this plan may have preserved the intricate details that fans love. What was Martin’s reasoning behind scrapping the time jump? Could it have reshaped Game of Thrones? Let’s find out.

Arya Stark is one of the most important characters heading into The Winds of Winter, and a record she holds in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series proves it. Whether it's in George R.R. Martin's novels or HBO's Game of Thrones, Arya stands out even among the members of House Stark as being among the very best heroes of the epic saga. Her story takes her on a tumultuous journey even by Westerosi standards, from losing her father and being separated from her family, to shedding her identity, becoming no one, and developing into an assassin.
By Game of Thrones' ending, Arya had reconciled the differing parts of herself and was ready to forge a new path, going off to search for what's West of Westeros. But will that be the same in the books? With the wait for The Winds of Winter ongoing, it always...

A recent episode of Family Feud featured a survey question that viewers felt was in bad taste.
Host Steve Harvey went along with a contestant named Jt, who gave a response that didn’t sit well with some Family Feud fans.
The moment was shared on YouTube in a Short titled, “What would you do if you were a dog?”
Steve approached Jt’s family’s podium to ask him for a response to the survey question, “Name something you’d like to do if you were a dog.”
Jt came up with his answer instantaneously, telling Steve with conviction, “I would say lick myself.”
Steve’s reaction was to give Jt a high-five as he exclaimed, “My man!”
As Steve walked away from the podium, he mouthed to himself, “Please understand.”
“Yes, yes, yes, yes!” Steve continued.
“It’d cure all my problems!” he joked. “Oh, I’d be happy.

Hot Ones, the buzzy talk show where celebrities face questions and even hotter chicken, is under new management.
First We Feast, the company behind the YouTube show, has been sold by Buzzfeed to a group of investors including host Sean Evans and founder Chris Schonberger, Pod Save America producer Crooked Media, Rhett & Link’s Mythical Entertainment and Soros Fund Management for $82.5M in an all-cash deal.
The move means that First We Feast will now be an independent multi-platform media company. It comes after Buzzfeed sold Complex Media, where First We Feast started as an offshoot, to Live Nation-backed Ntwrk but kept the Hot Ones producer.
Schonberger becomes CEO of the company with Evans as Chief Creative Officer as well as remaining host of the hit show. Sarah Honda remains SVP of Operations and Brand Strategy and Brendan Kelly is SVP of Client Partnerships.

If you’ve watched the Starz drama, you were probably blown away by how well showrunner Laura Eason adapted Lisa Taddeo’s novel. I love book-to-screen adaptations, and Three Women was one of the best I’ve watched.
While Shailene Woodley and Betty Gilpin headlined the series, DeWanda Wise and Gabrielle Creevy also gave powerful performances.
Since its beginning, Three Women has kept viewers engrossed with Lina, Sloane, Maggie, and Gia’s relationship journeys and sexual awakenings. This series features quality writing, impressive acting, and beautiful cinematography.

It was challenging to create this report card because so much of the season was well done. However, after careful consideration, I’m happy with these results.

What do you mean TV insults are not the reason for the season? Family gatherings throughout the holidays are not always bastions of constructive thought and civilized conversation!
Well, maybe they are for some. But where is the fun in that? If you’re anything like me, you have a relatively dysfunctional family that hurls as many insults as compliments.
In that situation, it pays to be on your toes and keep your wits about you.
(Fox)
While this list is all about defending oneself from familial onslaughts, it’s not about making enemies of your own blood. Well, maybe the in-laws, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles all too often.
Try to avoid creating a massive rift in the family by slinging an ill-timed Family Guy joke in front of grandma.
Of course, some of the best insults come from the raunchiest shows and characters.

Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage opens up on his on-set relationship with British star Charles Dance during filming of the hit fantasy series. Adapted from George R.R. Martins A Song Of Ice and Fire novels, Game of Thrones debuted April 17, 2011 on HBO, running eight seasons and 73 episodes, to intense critical acclaim. Dinklage's on-screen performance as Tyrion Lannister on the show earned him four Primetime Emmy Awards, while Dance played his father, Tywin Lannister. The two characters had plenty of animosity towards one another and shared many scenes across the shows first four seasons.
In an interview with First We Feast, Dinklage reflects on his experiences filming Game of Thrones, and details his relationship with Dance as a central component in this. He mentions the strained relationship Tyrion and Tywin have on the show, and how Dances paternal nature helped comfort him between takes. Dinklage identifies Dance "one of [his] favorite human begins.

Almost twenty years ago, viewers of the Project Greenlight reality TV series got to watch as John Gulager was hired to direct the creature feature Feast for a producing team that included Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Wes Craven. Feast went over well enough that Gulager was brought back to helm back-to-back sequels, Feast II: Sloppy Seconds and Feast III: The Happy Finish. Since then, he has gone on to direct Piranha 3Dd, Zombie Night, and Children of the Corn: Runaway. His latest movie is the action thriller Seven Cemeteries, which was just given a theatrical and digital release today, October 11th, and on Amazon it’s available to rent for the price of $6.99 or purchase for $14.99. The following contains spoilers for Seven Cemeteries, hitting theaters on October 11th for limited release.
Directed by actor and filmmaker John Gulager, Seven Cemeteries is an upcoming movie that blends black comedy, irreverent horror, revenge drama and the classic Western. It casts parolees and zombies as the unlikely heroes of the Oklahoma farmlands. Santana Bravo (Danny Trejo), the leader of a gang, has just gotten parole, having spent the last few decades serving time for a crime he didn't commit. He's just gotten a taste of freedom when a recently widowed young woman, Dolores (Emma Ramos), comes to him for help to save her ranch from Santana's nemesis: the ruthless and violent drug lord, Abuelo (Sal Lopez). Alone, Santana is no match for Abuelo but with the help of a Witch (Maria Canals-Barrera) and her awkward zombie lover, Miguel (Efren Ramirez), Santana is able to bring back his beloved posse from the dead.

Netflix wants to heat up its live programming slate with a red-hot talk show.
The streaming giant is in talks to pick up some live editions of the popular YouTube talk show Hot Ones, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The show, which is hosted by Sean Evans and produced by BuzzFeed’s First We Feast, sees Evans grill a celebrity guest over spicy chicken wings, with each wing being hotter than the last.
The deal, assuming it comes together, would see Evans host some live versions of the show exclusively for Netflix, as Bloomberg first reported.
Hot Ones has become a bona fide talk show phenomenon with new episodes routinely garnering millions of views on YouTube, with the program now being able to book A-list guests. It was even in the mix for this year’s primetime Emmy Awards, hosting FYC events, though it was ultimately unable to secure a nomination.

Actress and singer Patti LuPone, known for her work in musical theater, criticized reality star Kim Kardashian over her acting abilities. Interestingly, the conversation was about another starlet’s acting abilities. Notably, this isn’t the first time LuPone has talked about Kardashian.
The Conversation Actually Started About Madonna
LuPone appeared on Hot Ones Versus with actress Aubrey Plaza on the First We Feast YouTube channel. Both actresses appeared to promote the Agatha All Along miniseries, a spin-off of WandaVision.

It’s been almost 10 years since the first episode of “Hot Ones” hit the internet, and host Sean Evans will be the first to admit that he and his team “did not have high aspirations” for the show at inception. Nonetheless, the YouTube talk show has seemingly cracked the code, becoming a must-stop destination on film press tours — but Evans still feels like he’s “drowning” a bit.
That’s a good thing for the host though. As Evans explained to TheWrap at a Hot Ones live event in Chicago (part of Stella Artois’ ‘Let’s do Dinner Summer Series’), he thinks it’s “healthy” for him and his team to still feel overwhelmed and never like they’re in a rhythm.

Karma’s a bitch… and she loves a genre flick.
M. Night Shyamalan just put the spotlight back on viral terror with “Trap,” an escape room horror about a killer attempting to outmaneuver the cops at a concert packed with iPhones. In fewer theaters this weekend (but streaming too!) is director Marcus Dunstan’s “#Amfad: All My Friends Are Dead.” That’s another internet horror movie featuring a major pop music event — only here the murderer and their victims never make it inside the venue.
Starring ex-Nickelodeon favorite Jade Pettyjohn and none other than JoJo Siwa herself, “#Amfad” sees its masked villain ensnare a van full of wannabe internet celebs in a “Seven”-esque killing spree at a remote Airbnb. Both former kid-stars-turned-social-media-heavyweights, Pettyjohn and Siwa worked together years ago when the “Dance Moms” legend guest-starred with series regular Pettyjohn on “School of Rock.”

Vince Vaughn is convinced studios want to “overthink” comedies nowadays, especially ones without an IP to fall back on.
The actor — who has appeared in iconic original films such as “Wedding Crashers,” “Old School,” and “Swingers” — explained why there is a lack of modern R-rated comedies in theaters.
“[Studios] just overthink it,” Vaughn said during First We Feast’s “Hot Ones” series. “And it’s like, it’s crazy, you get these rules, like, if you did geometry, and you said 87 degrees was a right angle, then all your answers are messed up, instead of 90 degrees. So there became some idea or concept, like, they would say something like, ‘You have to have an IP.'”
He continued, “The people in charge don’t want to get fired more so than they’re looking to do something great, so they want to kind of follow a set of rules that somehow get set in stone,...

It’s been a couple years since we’ve heard a peep about The Collected, the planned third installment in the horror trilogy that began with The Collector and continued with The Collection. The hotly anticipated film had briefly entered production before shutting down back in 2020, you may recall, but it sounds like it’s getting a second chance at life here in 2024.
Chatting with YouTube’s David Clair-Bennett, director Marcus Dunstan (The Collector, The Collection, #Amfad: All My Friends Are Dead) offers up an exciting update this week.
Dunstan tells the channel, “After five years of Gordian Knot untangling, The Collector is free. The Collector gets to come back. And it is something that… Josh Stewart… we’re pumped… Emma Fitzpatrick… we’re thrilled. We want to come back and do it right.”

Hugh Jackman played Wolverine for almost two decades before announcing his superhero retirement after 2017's Logan. However, the actor reprised his beloved role in Deadpool & Wolverine in a completely different capacity.
Joining Ryan Reynolds' Merc With a Mouth gave Hugh Jackman a different role. Aside from the fact that he plays a variant of the mutant from the multiverse, Wolverine plays the perfect partner for Deadpool's sarcastic, unserious self. During an appearance on First We Feast's Hot Ones, Hugh Jackman addressed when he realized Wolverine's potential for a double-act comedy, and, ironically, it happened right after his retirement.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is notorious for the lengths it goes to keep secrets for its upcoming films. Deadpool officially joined the MCU with the new Deadpool & Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds addressed the struggle of keeping secrets and the leaks from the film.
During an appearance in a new episode of First We Feast's Hot Ones, Ryan Reynolds addressed the film's leaks. The new installment following Deadpool has him share the stage with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine but the information was announced in September 2022 amid struggling to come up with ideas for Deadpool 3. Although the host does his best to keep the show moving, he sometimes can’t manage it without taking a break. Recently, one answer left Steven enraged. Likewise, it isn’t uncommon for Steve to reprimand contestants when they give stupid answers. But Steve is a master at turning things around when families make alarming guesses. After the horrible incident at the Oscars when he assaulted Chris Rock because of a joke, Will Smith is slowly returning to the scene and is trying to revitalize his career. The actor has effectively been blacklisted since the assault and has been struggling to land a decent job. Sure, the Bad Boys franchise brought him back, but that’s his own franchise, so it makes sense that the producers knew that replacing Smith wouldn’t do them much good. And so, we might be seeing him on screen again more frequently in the upcoming years.
Be that as it may, the actor has once again entered the spotlight and the media are more interested in him as well. In a recent talk in the First We Feast’s “Hot Ones” series, Will Smith talked about his career and he has also picked the best movie he’s starred in,...

#Amfad: All My Friends Are Dead premieres tonight, June 8, at Tribeca Film Festival with a twisted, fun horror storyline set at a music festival. Director Marcus Dunstan aims to balance originality with his influences from the Scream franchise in his new slasher film. #Amfad injects humor, kinetic energy, and brutal gory scenes into classic slasher genre tropes for a killer cinematic experience.
We did our damndest to give you something you haven't seen before that'll feel like raw voltage in that theater, beamed Marcus Dunstan, director of the new teen horror film, #Amfad: All My Friends Are Dead. The chilling tale finds a group of college friends renting an Airbnb during a huge music festival, but their party weekend soon takes a wicked turn. Taco Bell's 2023 ad features bludnymph's "Feast" song, connecting with Gen Z through social media appeal. Green Day's "Look Ma, No Brains!" song in another 2023 ad targets Gen X, promoting their album Saviors. Taco Bell's marketing strategy includes iconic jingles, celebrity collaborations, and memorable ads to stay relevant.
A memorable Taco Bell commercial from 2023 features a catchy song that isn't the easiest to place and which many may confuse with a song from Green Day. Taco Bell is one of the largest multinational fast food chains with over 7000 locations worldwide (via Food&Wine). With that global presence comes a massive marketing engine that powers interest in the locations and ensures the constantly rotating menu of Mexican-inspired foodstuffs is always on someone's mind when they start getting hungry. Francis Ford Coppola, the fabled director behind classics like The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, has poured 40 years of his life and $120 million of his own money into his latest passion project, Megalopolis. This self-funded sci-fi epic follows an architect with the power to stop time as he attempts to rebuild a devastated metropolis as a utopia, despite facing opposition from the corrupt Mayor.

With a star-studded cast including Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, and Aubrey Plaza, expectations are definitely high for this long-awaited film. Making Megalopolis was an expensive and laborious procedure; thus, its box office performance will have a significant influence on Coppola’s legacy in the future.
Since the movie’s May 16, 2024, Cannes Film Festival premiere, initial reviews have been released, and they are polarizing.

Not to be confused with the 1986 Gary Paulsen novel that was on your fifth-grade reading list, Adam Green's 2007 slasher "Hatchet" was intended to be an homage to the plentiful stalk-and-kill movies from the 1980s. The first "Hatchet" takes place deep in the swamps of Louisana where feckless city-dwellers get lost while taking a swamp tour. They trade stories of Victor Crowley, a local kid with facial differences who, years ago, was trapped in a burning house set ablaze by prankster teens. Crowley was accidentally killed by his father when he recklessly used a hatchet to free him from the fire. Victor's spirit is now said to haunt the swamp and murder interlopers. Of course, Victor will appear to start the predicted murders.
Victor Crowley was played by stuntman Kane Hodder, perhaps best known for playing the masked killer Jason Voorhees in "Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood,...

Quick Links How to Unlock Ulrika's Quest How To Romance Ulrika
Ulrika is one of two romanceable options in Dragon's Dogma 2, a courageous leader with a passion for helping others. Compared to other romanceable options such as Wilhelmina, romancing Ulrika will require completing several more quests. Specifically, the Arisen will need to help fend off a dragon, defend against Saurian invasions, and usurp a henchman of the queen.
Like with Wilhelmina, you should increase Ulrika's affinity whenever possible by giving her gifts she likes. This will help her grow closer to you which may be necessary if her romance cutscene does not automatically trigger at the end of her quest. Additionally, you should only go to Battahl for Captain Brant if they have romanced Ulrika, as this will lock them out of her quest.

Gwyneth Paltrow understands that good films aren’t necessarily $300 million productions.
Appearing on First We Feast’s Hot Ones, hosted by Sean Evans, she was asked about director Cord Jefferson’s recent Oscar speech.
Jefferson won the Best Adapted Screenplay award for American Fiction, and used the platform to beg Hollywood for budget sanity. “Instead of making one $200 million movie, try making 20 $10 million movies,” he said in his acceptance speech.
Paltrow starred as Pepper Potts in the Iron Man films, as well as in other MCU films including Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Endgame.
Paltrow agreed with Jefferson’s sentiments.

Ben Affleck’s Only Horror Movie Was So Bad It Couldn’t Even Earn More Than $10 Million at Box Office
Ben Affleck’s done a lot in Hollywood, you know? He’s been in all sorts of movies, from those big action flicks to the tear-jerker dramas. But when the 51-year-old dipped his toes into horror with Phantoms back in ’98, it didn’t quite hit the mark.
Ben Affleck in Justice League
The movie just couldn’t grab people’s attention, making less than 10 million bucks at the box office. Even though it had a cool idea and Affleck’s star power, Phantoms just didn’t live up to the hype, ending up as one of those forgettable horror flicks. It’s kinda curious why folks didn’t vibe with it and what it says about the actor’s career in movies.
Ben Affleck’s Sole Horror Movie Outing Was a Complete Flop
Ben Affleck tried his hand at horror, and let’s just say it didn’t end well.

It is common knowledge how FromSoftware and its CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki directed their games to be intensely difficult intentionally. Ranging from the Dark Soul series, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and their latest Elden Ring title, all the games pose a challenge in their own right, all to give the player a great sense of achievement once they are done with the game.
As obvious, this difficulty should not be treated lightly. Elden Ring in particular is produced in a way that the player would be filled with rage as he continues his play through. Many famous YouTubers, including DrDisRespect, have seemed to try out the game for themselves, but much without success in their first time.

Feast, the new Filipino entry on Netflix, seems like a film that is heavily inspired by the works of the legendary Hirokazu Koreeda. It lacks the subtlety and finesse that are usually seen in Koreeda’s film, which makes it just about a decent watch and nothing more. But the film hinges on a (literally) killer twist in the end, if you know what I mean. And despite providing us with enough breadcrumbs throughout the story, Feast pulls it off pretty well. We’re going to look into the twist and what it really means for the characters.

Whereas splatter movies wield gore and carnage like a weapon to evoke a visceral response, splatter comedies push the onscreen violence and gore into outlandish territory for the sake of a hearty laugh. Peter Jackson and Sam Raimi, for example, began their filmmaking careers defining the modern splatter comedy with their early works, pushing the boundaries of taste, horror, and humor through cartoonish bloodletting.
This week brings the arrival of a new splatter-comedy, Destroy All Neighbors, presenting the perfect excuse to laugh your way through the excess entrails and arterial spray the niche subgenre has to offer. These five splatter comedies vary in style and tone, but all seek to tickle your funny bone through humor, fun, and a whole lot of guts.

With “Wish,” Disney Animation celebrates its 100th anniversary by merging the 2D legacy of watercolor background paintings (dating back to “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”) with cutting-edge CG. The result was a revitalization of the retro aesthetic in every department to better display the hand of the artist. Like a gateway drug, it has already carried over into an as-yet-unannounced feature with a very different 2D look.

The co-director of the latest Disney animated film, Wish, has revealed that the studio is actively considering returning to 2D animation for some of their future projects.
While speaking with The Direct, Wish co-director Chris Buck was asked about 2D animation at Disney, especially as his new film sports a blend of 3D and 2D animation. And the look has a somewhat 2D look with the lines on the characters. We did early tests with Star [the lead character of the new film] as 2D. But yeah, I think [Disney] will keep exploring.”
Cruella Should Have Been an Original Character
This quote comes as Disney has largely moved to 3D animation in recent years, with popular movies such as the Toy Story franchise and Cars, but the history of the animation...

Robert Englund terrorizing people throughout the night isn’t a rare sight to see. As the star of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, he has been in some of the most popular horror movies ever made. His performance made the dream-stalking Freddy Krueger a genre icon. But he has around one hundred and fifty screen credits where he didn’t play Freddy. With that much output, it’s not surprising that the occasional project slips completely under the radar. Today, we’re going to shine the spotlight on one of those projects. A film where Englund plays a weaselly projectionist who traps Finn Jones in a movie theatre overnight. It...

On October 13, 2023, Apple TV+ premiered “Lessons in Chemistry” starring Oscar winner Brie Larson. The limited series set in the early 1950s follows Elizabeth Zott (played by Larson), whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold in a patriarchal society. When Elizabeth finds herself fired from her lab, she accepts a job as a host on a TV cooking show, and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives — and the men who are suddenly listening — a lot more than recipes.” The ensemble cast includes Lewis Pullman, Aja Naomi King, Stephanie Koenig and Patrick Walker.
Critics have praised the latest Apple limited series, landing the show at 80% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The critics consensus says, “Touching on several hot button issues while benefitting immensely from a perfect pinch of Brie Larson, ‘Lessons in Chemistry’s’ ambitious ingredients add up to satisfying entertainment.” Read our full review round-up below.

For Elizabeth Zott (Brie Larson), the intrepid heroine of Apple TV+’s Lessons in Chemistry, perfection is the ultimate goal. By the time we meet her, she’s made the same lasagna dish 78 times — each time with subtle and meticulously documented tweaks, in pursuit of a recipe that can’t possibly be further improved upon.
As evidenced by his obvious delight as Calvin (Lewis Pullman) sinks his teeth into her latest effort, though, a dish doesn’t need to be perfect to be pleasurable. Neither does a TV series. Lessons in Chemistry is far from flawless; even those (like me) who’ve never read the Bonnie Garmus novel on which it’s based will be able to feel the seams where the source material and the adaptation do not quite mesh. Nevertheless, it’s worth tucking into, thanks to an endearing cast, witty dialogue and easily digestible themes.
