Want to comment on Dr. Robert Ray

I really enjoy watching the show. Especially Dr. Ray. He is so handsome and so sweet. I think he doesn't treat his patients like patients, but more like friends. I wish he was working here, so I could pay him a visit. It seems like he would give you an honest advice on any surgery you would like to do. I also saw the show when he drove to Mexico to help the people. This was a real emotional show. It made you see another side of him. He is just a wonderful person. You can also see that he is a real family man, loves his wife and children. But he is just to busy with work, to fully enjoy their company. I think that his wife does understand that he has a busy schedule at the clinic, but still she would prefer to spend more time with him (who wouldn't??). But it seems that he does find time to do his martial arts. This is excellent. After spending a whole day operating on people or at his office, it is a good thing to relax like this. And it keeps him in shape also. Just imagine having a plastic surgeon who does not look good. He wouldn't have any patients ! He just turned 45 years, but he looks like 30. Isn't that fantastic ?

Dr. 90210, the current one is a mess

Back in the 2000's, Dr. 90210 was one of the best reality television shows out there, Dr. Robert Rey and his crew have brought energeticness, style and charm to the show and had humor and coolness to the show and it also launch the careers of several stars, including ton jones who star in an episode boobs, dogs and snakes in 2005, jones, 5 years later went on to do his best known show auction hunters that used to be on spike tv (now paramount network) from 2010-2015 and other things.

as for the new Dr. 90210, it's an utter disaster and truly boring on any account, now i don't hate female plastic surgeons, but these ladies have none of the charm that Dr. Robert Rey had, the plot is so stupid, their surgery is nonsensical and silly, everything else about is was wrong, this is just not as good as the original, sorry, but i will stick with the 2004-08 classic

this current one is a real downer.

My grade for this show a D.

    The 2020 Season

I did not watch the series when it originated. So my comments only apply to the current season, starting in 2020.

I disagree with one reviewer who called the current surgeons "boring". These women are clearly dedicated to their craft, which is an art form. Furthermore, they can definitely relate to their female patients. And most of them are female. Finally, their compassion and their dedication to perfection makes them the kind of aesthetic surgeons that anyone would want in charge of her health and appearance. People come from near and far because these doctors have demonstrated that they identify with their patients and always place them first.

Besides that, they are stylish and humorous.

Keep your remote at the ready!

For every hour of programming, you have 40 minutes of the banal home life of the doctor, 15 minutes of establishing shots, and 5 minutes of actual content. I zipped through a whole season in about two hours, and I could have done it in less.

Do you remember the episode of Friends where Monica put Phoebe in charge of cups? And Phoebe went nuts making everything out of cups? Well, I think they told some film student he could do the transitions and establishing scenes, and in an attempt at seizing the spotlight he produced a ridiculous amount of them. Between each scene is 5 minutes of storefronts and the same damn statue over and over again with the occasional fancy wipe. This is beyond tedious.

Yet that seems interesting in comparison to the home scenes. Thrill while the wife discusses a remodel! Sit on the edge of your seat when the doctor is late for Tae Kwon Do! Absorb yourself in the 70th identical discussion about how much time he spends with his family! You get the picture. I don't know why anyone would sit through this part of the show. They are uninteresting people leading uninteresting lives.

When you finally get to the surgery, there are some pretty good parts. They had an expert discuss the cultural reason an anonymous Muslim woman is getting a hymen restoration. There are plenty of patients with botched surgeries and the innovative techniques the doctors use to fix them (it's more difficult than a regular procedure). You also get to see how people come to obsess over their perceived imperfections, how models/actresses can't get work when they're beautiful but flawed, and the tremendous relief of fixing a physical deformity that has haunted the patient for years.

Great example of what was acceptable is not any more

I watched it when it 1st came out and really didn't think that much about it but I saw it on my demand and started watching it again and all my gosh those doctors are creepy af! A leader way out in front in that is "doctor" David Matlock tells his girlfriend of 4 years He doesn't want to get married and dumps her. Then Proceeds to have a party with him and what can only be described as the bottom of the swamp and lots of them. I wouldn't wanna see that my plastic surgeon was that slimy. Both he and Doctor Rey (to a lesser) AND even doctor Reys anesthesiologist are weirdly inappropriate. Could you imagine them trying to make this show in today's climate? With MattLock, he is just creepy all the way around. and so vain. He did surgical procedures on his brother and his brother's girlfriend and as he was doing all of this liposuction on his brother's girlfriend he said "well she's already a size 0 so we'll make her a -0.5" 😳. And when he stand with her in the surgical Room, he turns her on her side and put his hand slides his hand all the way down her body, talking about how hot she was going to be.Just creepypasta!! All of the "sweeties" and "babies" and "" and "hots" and all their innuendo, and Double entendres is inappropriate.
