Basically Walmart Rosemary's baby. Not entirely awful but slow and kinda plain, with a lot of cliché and a plot that doesn't entity make sense.
I guess it's ok for a chill evening at home.

Simon Fellows could not have made a worse movie. This movie is at the bottom of the pool - however not as bad as "Fear X" or "Pumpkin", however this movie is a disturbing wanna be of Rosmarys Baby. So many un-finished scenes, so many retarded 'F-ed' up scenes, and so many scenes that just make you want to tear out your eyeballs just so you can have something to throw at the television. This movie frankly disturbed me, the ending not being quite there but still being enough to make you want to jump out of your skin. I first had my rating a 3 but now I change it too a 2, this movie sucks. I wouldn't think Simon Fellows would make such an awefull disappointment, but alas........it is that bad.
This film is basically a dud. My friends tease me because I think Heather Graham is a fine actress, but she is. Mr. Foyer does a good job, although I could have done without his gorilla feet hanging out of the tub in the beginning of the moviea
The real thrill is seeing Stella Stevens. If you don't know her from the original Poseiden's Aventure, then you might know her from The Courtship of Eddies Father. She's the only reason I sat through it.
Worth less than one watch. All reviews about it being a knockoff to a 1960s hit starring Mia Farrow and John Cassavetes based on a book by Ira Levin are totally on point.

I tried really hard to give this movie the benefit of the doubt telling myself that any moment now it was going to get better but it just never did. I feel like someone sat down & made a list of a lot of things they wanted to put in a movie. (pretty girl, flash house, cute kids, ancient artifacts etc..) Did them all poorly on the cheep & threw them together with no thought about plot, point or purpose. Both the acting & script left me with no connection to the characters what so ever leaving me feeling like i couldn't care less what happened to them. The end result, a poorly made, budget feeling film lacking any substance at all.
the good intentions are basic virtue of this strange film. strange not for idea but for its use. and for the not inspired manner to be more than poor exercise to remember a classic. the cast is OK and this is far to be a virtue. because the presence of Heather Graham and James Purefoy as a sweet couple, Fionnula Flanagan in skin of an interesting character and, the sad piece - Andy Serkis as pearl before swine in a movie who is only mixture between different ingredients, with large slices of Rosemary Baby and a lot of clichés. it is difficult to comment a film who is only exercise for a director ambition. or, only, a not inspired homage to Polansky and horror universe.
