    Ayub's last attempt at herodom.

    Sanjay review :

Mirza Bros' last attempt to showcase their protégé Ayub Khan as a hero; Sanjay was a shoddily made movie with a nonsensical plot and pathetic execution. Ayub did try his level best but even the best of stars wouldn't have been able to save this trash.

Shakti Kapoor got a meaty role of Ayub's honest bro which was initially offered to Jeetendra. So was the lead heroine role given to Sanyukta from Mirza Bros' previous hit Salaami (1994) but she declined for unknown reasons. Saaxshi (Sexy) Shivanand then became the heroine opposite Ayub but unfortunately, the film couldn't work any wonders for her career. Poor babe, she was a decent actor!!

I had seen Sanjay on its first day evening show at Chitra Cinema Dadar where it flopped miserably. Just like in the rest of India!!!

    Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.
