    Terrific first movie

I saw the first screening of this film in Dallas, and was impressed by the quality of writing and the creative, and very effective, way that Director (and writer, and producer, and acting lead, and I don't know what else) Joe Scott used limited resources to tell a story that is by turns funny, poignant, and instructive.

All the roles are well-acted and the story moves along briskly. The growth in understanding among the characters is much better handled than in many big budget films where the protagonist simply makes a miraculous, black-box conversion from clodhood to sensitivity.

I hope Scott has the opportunity to create more work. I'll be in line at the box office.

    Touching and Funny

Ocean Front Property was a wonderful first movie for Joe Scott. It is touching and funny, making the film a treat to see. It was well acted and Joe added a great soundtrack.

If this film is any indication, it looks like Joe Scott will have a successful career ahead of him. He wrote, directed, produced, starred in and edited Ocean Front Property - all within a very limited budget.

I was lucky enough to get into the first sold-out screening of Ocean Front Property when it played in Dallas. Hopefully we will see it released nationally. I can't wait to see Joe's next movie. If it's anything like Ocean Front Property, I know I'll love it.

    Good work Mr. Scott.

    Joe Scott's Ocean Front Property

I really found this movie to be a great effort from a first time director. I enjoyed it more than a large amount of the movies I see put out by the major studios, where creativity and humor seem to have died and been put out with the trash. Scott's efforts here, with a non-existent budget, were excellent and the final result is good, enjoyable to watch film. The soundtrack was also excellent.

I really feel like you walk away from this film wishing they had just a little more money behind the project so that you could see what Scott could really have done then. Great movie by a new director. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next.

    Trumped up Reviews

I am very sure that the majority of these reviews are from friends and family of Joe Scott. I saw this film at the Movie Tavern in Denton and I actually had to pay five dollars to see this. It was a very nice effort, but let's all be reasonable. Anything above a 5 rating is being way too generous. At the end of the screening, Mr. Scott had mentioned to the audience that they should post comments on IMDb, because industry professionals look at it. So I am almost positive that some of these glowing reviews came from Scott's circle. It wasn't awful, but it just wasn't that great. The film had several major setbacks, the first one being that it wasn't interesting. Sure there was crying and a small bit of yelling. But even the crying and yelling couldn't salvage this decent effort of comedy and drama. It was as if the director paid no attention whatsoever to acting and performance. The lines were wooden and hollow with nothing to engage the audience. I wish I were a close personal friend of Mr. Scott's, so that maybe I could have overlooked this major flaw. And maybe I would feel vindicated in spending money to watch this over-glorified student film.

    Wonderful story

I was at the Magnolia Film Festival when I saw this film, and I must say within the first 5 minutes I loved it. Joe Scott does a wonderful job with its story line and holds it very true and in-depth with real life.

Having just come out of a relationship very close to that of the main character, I related well to the emotions of this film. There were events in the movie that I found myself going through in a lot of those same situations. Seeing this film actually helped me close those last loose ends I had left in my life.

I hope and cant wait to see more work like this from Joe Scott. I hope that very soon we see his work on the big screen. I know I will be one of the first in line for it.

When the characters are looking at a picture album and talking about a trip they took, we cut back and forth between two different people who are both holding the same album.

Rick Noonson: [in Voice Over] I'd watch the waves come in. Every wave alters the beach a little bit. Grain by tiny grain, the beach changes completely. After a while, a beach can become practically unrecognizable. Like life, I suppose.
