Was this from the same serious as the previous episode?

A group of peaceful protesters led by Lord Kemble are dubiously getting hold of government secrets and freely handing them out to members of the public. It's a scheme that is a huge embarrassment for The Government, they hire Gerry Paynter, who decides to go undercover.

When I saw the names Joan Hickson and Barry Foster in the credits, Van Der Valk and Miss Marple respectively, I was really excited, unfortunately this was a bit of a duff episode.

So far they've been relatively serious dramas, this one however, it was like watching a Carry on B movie, the chirpy music and bonkers love story, it just wasn't to be taken seriously.

The acting was actually pretty good, but the storyline was just seriously out of place, it just felt silly.

Couldn't take it seriously.
