    I won XD

I was on this show 3 years ago. It was a lot of fun. If you ever get the chance to be on - take it! You have nothing to lose.

When I got there at 7 A, they ask for a signature from a parent (If you are under 18) then you get seated in the audience. They film 3 show at a time so be prepared to be sitting for a while. I went on the last show, just my luck, so I had to put up with 4-5 hours of plain old 'sitting' and smiley when they violently move the camera in your face.

Then, they finally called on me! They got around 4-5 kids and we settled in a 'Preview room.' Here they told us what game we are playing and let us test it out for 2 minutes each. I was: Wrestle Mania 18. I hate wrestling games. Anyways, we were supposed to try to get the most 'Pins' (Holding a opponent down for 3 seconds) The other kiddies got like 7 pins, I got one, XD.

After a while they finally got us on the stage and we began to play. I doubted that I'd win so I just fooled around, I think I almost crashed the game once. Then after about 20 minutes of the cast screwing up their lines they announced the winners. Now I was really about to swear, I won. They called upon me and I had to go to the bonus round. The camera went off! They told me they had to redo that sequence and told me to act surprised when they called upon me, the second time. I felt like an idiot but somehow managed a smile.

The guy then told me to put my hand in a bag, with something covering my eyes, and I got . . . #4! =o - I won about 7 sets of fake Beyblades, =(. I'm not 8. Jeez.

But since I end winning, I won the game, which is busy collecting dust, a watch, 7 sets of fake bey blades (XD), a rental coupon, also collecting dust, some pizza this lady who worked there helped us sneak out and some other things. It was great until some parents were jealously commenting on what I won, no my fault your kids suck.

Anyways, it was a great time. I may do it again someday if they allow young adults. I give it a 8.9/10.

    Kind Of A Scam

I was on the show in the 90s. I was playing Super Adventure Island 2. At the beginning of the game I was a little behind but by the end I had destroyed everyone else when it came to anything you could consider progress. I got farther in the game. Collected the most gold and the most items. There was no way I could have lost…But I did.. What they do not tell you is that they pick the winner within the first 5 minutes of the game. I was crushed. The worst part was that my prize was worse than what my father got for sitting in the audience! I got a silly sweatshirt with a polar bear on it and my father got a Donkey Kong T-Shirt for answering a trivia question about Roy Rogers. Talk about a kick in the nuts eh LOL

super nintendo sega genesis when i was dead broke i couldn't picture this

TYV had shows and segments for all types of children back in the day. V&AT10 was a video game show where geeks played various games against each other on the Nintendo to Sega and I think PlayStation. (Xbox didn't exist back in those days. Sorry Xbox extremists). The geeks competed for junk prizes, while the producers made bank from advertising.

No doubt watching as a kid this show was fun, but looking back this show was pointless and silly. No doubt the gaming religion is worse now but even looking back this show had no purpose.

    Anyways...

From a young perspective, this show was very entertaining. It was very different from all other shows. To go from cartoon to cartoon then V&AT10. Was legendary.

I recommend you search this show on youtube. This show was pretty cool, you'll see classic consoles, games and 90's version of the geek.

    Great show for the young.

Was suppose to be on the show. But something happened.

This show sure brings back good and bad memories. Good being that the show was so cool for a Canadian show and it lasted for so long before getting cancelled and for the bad memories. Does anyone reading this remember a game show produced by the same people of Video & Arcade Top 10? It was a game show where you look at a screen and then have to run back and forth to different TV screens answering questions. Well if you know of the show I was suppose to be on that show but found out it was filmed in Hamilton where I don't even live near by and I told my parents cause i was a kid if they could take me. Dad said no way too far and waste of gas and mom said the same thing. I told the woman parents wouldn't take me which she replied that my parents weren't very helpful and weren't really making my life more happy. I said well what about video & arcade top 10? Where is that filmed? She mentioned a studio in Toronto and gave me the intersection. I told her let me go ask my parents if i can be on that show. Before I could even ask my parents she said she was already full but would put my contact info down and she would call me within a few weeks. I asked my parents and they said OK Toronto sure no problem just let us know when we can bring you. I was sooooooooo happy it was like I won money or something as it made me so happy. So 1 month comes and my dad calls me and says a woman from a gameshow is on the phone to speak to me. She was the same woman i spoke to 1 month earlier. She said someone backed out and I was picked by the staff to be on the show and said I was like the happiest person she ever spoke with. I told her I would make the show very fun cause I love entertaining people. She even told me if im as happy as I am over the phone they would love me on TV and might even bring me back often or have me in the audience more often. I was told to be there at a certain day and stay for 2 hours while they prepare the show. I then got a phone number to call if i couldn't make it or was sick or a death in a family and things like that. I told my dad who changed his mind and said no so i was sad and was telling the woman i just spoke with i couldn't be on the show which she again said i guess your parents don't want you to be happy and that was it i was done and i saw the show and saw whoever the kid was who took my place. Not sure which kid it was but it was one of them. To this day I still never forget that faithful day i could've been on the show.
