As soon as Shaktimaan 'word' enters our ears we enter into the days of our childhood days when watching it was an important part of out weekends. This was the impact that this series brought in the minds of children, though not only children watch it. This was a mix of ethics with fantasy, education with entertainment, ancient wisdom with modern technology. This series was marvel of Indian television was technology had not reached high tides like today. Wonderful presentation along with brilliant storyline this was a brilliant work of its days.
It amazes me how an excellent superhero stuff was made in the 90's with almost very little technical help. The visual effects were bad as compared to today's vfx world but it was brilliant as compared to the visual effects of the 90's.
Mukesh Khanna was like the superhero of Indian Television. First it was his character Bheeshma in Mahabharata and now in Shaktiman, he was just brilliant in both of them.
Story, concept, theme music, the characters, all the aspects of this show was brilliant. Mukesh Khanna as Shaktiman and Gangadhar was exceptionally brilliant. Vaishnavi as Geeta Vishwas, and the Surendra Pal as Tamraj Kilvish were brilliant in their part. Tom Alter was my personal favourite.
Kids from the 90's still remember the characters name like Kilvish, Dr Jaikal, gangadhar and Shaktiman. Till now people often quote the dialouges of Shaktiman.
Shaktiman was the first Indian Superhero and perhaps the best Indian Superhero story till date.

Being raised up during the shaktiman era was special and we are so emotionally attached with this show.
Shaktimaan is the only serial, I think had lots of learning messages. It had great story lines and great messages for kids and all. We watched it with all our attentions and hearts in it on Sundays (started in Saturdays in the beginning). Main important part of any serial is not the graphics, as many of today's serials have very high quality graphics but with a very poor or cheap story behind. Mahabharat, Ramayan, Shaktimaan and few other serials of that times are still great not because of their graphics of course but because of their direction and great messages towards the viewers. The fact is I still watch all those serials in Youtube and don't find any other serial of present times with so called high quality graphics more interesting and with greater messages than those master pieces of 90s.

- TriviaShaktimaan soon became so popular that children began to skip their classes on Saturdays to watch the episodes. Taking this seriously the producers shifted the time slot to Sundays.
