Ein Katzensprung

If a film production is supported by the armed forces of the GDR and a lot of heavy equipment is shown, it cannot be a work that is critical of the military. But this is the only military film I know that approves of harassing subordinates if it only strengthens the soldiers' fighting ability. Apart from this questionable morality, there is hardly any tension or interest in the characters. Overall, the film seems like a contribution to obedience that is shown to the recruits on behalf of the Ministry of Defense.
