John Cena has zoomed into his latest action franchise and is slated to star in Apple Original Film “Matchbox,” the latest feature adaptation of an iconic Mattel toy brand.
Sam Hargrave is set to direct the live-action feature film with Skydance co-producing alongside Mattel.
David Coggeshall and Jonathan Tropper are penning the script.
Read the studio’s official synopsis, below:
“Matchbox” will be inspired by Mattel’s iconic real-world die-cast toy vehicle line of the same name. The legendary Matchbox brand was invented in 1953 by automotive enthusiast Jack Odell to solve a challenge for his daughter, who was allowed to take a toy to school only if it was small enough to fit in a matchbox. When his daughter’s school friends too began clamouring for a “matchbox car,” an iconic brand was born. The high standards of authenticity for Matchbox die-cast cars have driven the brand for over 70 years and generations of fans.

Since its premiere in 2018, 9-1-1 has consistently provided more high-quality episodes than other procedurals. There are multiple reasons for this, but a major one is the variety. While other shows of its kind tend to focus on first responders, paramedics, dispatchers, detectives, or firefighters, the ABC series presents them all in one amazing buffet.
Viewers thus get to understand a little bit of how each department works. Whenever these modern-day heroes aren’t doing their best to save lives, they remain intriguing through detailed friendship and relationship arcs. Among the show’s numerous captivating episodes, a few can be singled out for having better storylines, performances, and production values.
Updated on March 10, 2024 by Katie Doll: 9-1-1, which moved from Fox to ABC, keeps the heart pumping every single episode with new thrills and disasters to fix. The close bond of the Station 118 members keeps the series on its toes.

Before Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Vs Maidaan Box Office Clash: 5 Huge Eid Battles That Did Not Happen (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is releasing on Eid 2024, and while the film was enjoying a solo release date till a week back, Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan has dropped in to occupy the same release date. The two superstars will now lock horns at the box office for the 9th time in their career.
However, while the two films are ready to clash at Eid, which might affect each other, the festival release date is the most sought-after date in Bollywood. Generally, it has been Salman Khan who has always ruled the Eid release date almost every year.
Even in 2023, Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was released on Eid. However, this year, while Bhaijaan is taking a sabbatical, Eid was a major opportunity to tap on.

Exclusive: Salvage Hunters producer Curve Media is gearing up for new investment after appointing specialist advisory firm GothamStreet to explore its strategic options, we’ve learned. It’s understood the UK indie is expecting to double its revenues this year and wants to capitalize on its position in the factual market.
Dane Phillips of London-based advisory GothamStreet is overseeing the process and Deadline understands that he has spoken to several potential partners, as Curve considers a range of options. These could result in a strategic partnership, private equity investment, bank debt raise or a company sale, though the latter option isn’t thought to be favored.
The process is in the early stages but whatever path is agreed, Curve wants to ensure it can capitalize on its position in the burgeoning UK unscripted market, and that continued growth will be at the forefront of any agreement.

Lockdown, not to be confused with the Kevin Nash film Lockdown and so many others, has finally been released. Why do I say finally? Because production wrapped on it back in 2017. When a film that has marketable names in the cast sits on the shelf that long it’s usually a sign that it’s really awful or so artsy nobody knows what to do with it. And this ain’t no art film.
In a Los Angeles precinct Captain Davis is interrogating Cherry a hooker turned armed robber. Elsewhere one of the cops makes the mistake of trying to pick up some cash he sees on the floor only to end up dead and relieved of his cell keys, gun,...

Juliette Lewis has been tapped for a key role opposite Kumail Nanjiani and Murray Bartlett in the Hulu limited series Immigrant (working title), from Pam & Tommy creator Robert Siegel.
Immigrant is the true story of Somen “Steve” Banerjee (Nanjiani), the Indian-American entrepreneur who started Chippendales. The series will detail the insane, darkly comedic, crime-ridden story behind the unique male revue that became a cultural phenomenon.
Lewis will play the series regular role of Denise. Straight-talking, no-nonsense Denise goes from Chippendales groupie to loyal right-hand consigliere to its choreographer, Nick De Noia (Murray Bartlett). She looks after the New York club, as well as the Chippendales national tours, and weathers the increasingly volatile relationship between De Noia and Chippendales founder Steve Banerjee (Nanjiani).
The cast of Immigrant also includes Annaleigh Ashford as well as recurring/guest stars Quentin Plair, Andrew Rannells, Nicola Peltz.
