    OK Lifetime woman-in-peril flick

Dina Meyer stars as a troubled decoy for a detective agency in DECEPTION, a 2003 Lifetime movie. She is sick of the job and ends up being threatened by a past client while yet another past client suddenly reappears in her life and claims to have strong feelings for her. Suddenly, a fellow decoy is slain, possibly by her boyfriend, and shortly thereafter Meyer and her roommate are both attacked. And then a second murder occurs, this time one of Meyer's fellow detective agency workers. The plot may keep you guessing for a bit, although the number of suspects is pretty thin. Meyer doffs her clothes three times, twice to have sex with the new boyfriend. I think it's probably in her contract. She is an amazingly beautiful woman, and she turns 40 this year. Bravo.

she's not even a bag of chips

Dina meyer is not all that beautiful in spite of buildups by her press corps but that doesn't bother me as much as having gary hudson in this film...this guy is a real zero and has the intelligence quotient of the dirt under a tomato plant...having him in a cast with women is disturbing indeed and makes your skin crawl like you have some incurable disease...being a decoy is scary enough...risking death is plain stupid....redo this script and make it more cogent

    Not so deceptive

I've been a fan of Dina meyer since the 90s. Since i first saw her in dragonheart and starship troopers, i was a huge fan. As usual though, i really didn't understand how much she has really been in.

At this point i'm playing catch up. DECEPTION. This one i'm not surprised it slipped through the cracks and escaped my sight. A "TV" movie released in 2004, it follows Erin, (played by Dina Meyer) who is a struggling actress working for a detective agency, seducing married men and letting their wives catch them. Sounds fun and dangerous.

I did enjoy this film to a point. I always try to enjoy anything Dina is in. Hell i liked Birds of Prey. Dina gives her best in her roles and this is no different.

Of course the story is like 90% predictable. SO meh for story. The acting wasn't good but wasn't terrible either. It almost seemed like enhanced soap opera type. The cinematography and editing was choppy in alot of places.

It honestly feels like one of those projects that is mostly done to make some money and i can respect that.

To wrap this quick review up, i didn't expect much from this film and i got what i expected. Not good and not bad. One of those low budget tv movies you can watch while you are bored once or twice but nothing to really keep you coming back.

    I give Deception a 4/10.

PS this doesn't change my view on Miss. Meyer. Dina, you're awesome, talented and gorgeous. :-)

The viewer is not deceived most of the time

This is a fairly routine but still entertaining made for TV murder mystery movie. Much of it is predictable but the writers have left room in the script for a few surprises, especially toward the end when Erin (Dina Meyer) begins to see the truth, or thinks she sees the truth. The story concerns a decoy who is on the payroll of a local private dick. Her job is to set up married men whose wives are clients who want to see their husbands in compromising positions for various reasons usually involving money. Erin feels cheap about her job but desperately needs the money. Along the way she falls for one of the married men who seeks to get back at her after he is exposed to his wife. In turn he falls for her. Added to this is a former cheating husband she exposed who is out to kill her. The acting is average to above average for a television flick. One part of the film bothered me. Why did Erin keep using the alley by the PI's office when she was nearly murdered there? Wasn't there another way out of the building that had more light and more security? And why did she always walk the alley alone? Oh, well, that's television land.

    one big problem with premise

Struggling actress Erin (Dina Meyer) works a side gig for Jack's detective agency to seduce married men. Her work friend Denise (Rachelle Lefevre) is being abused. Julie (Anna Silk) is her roommate. Someone is making harassing phone calls. Erin meets Max Gardner (Steve Bacic) at a fitness club and goes on a date with him. It turns out to be another case working for Max's wife.

This has a few familiar faces. The most obvious problem is that Erin would never trust Max after that scary car incident. She couldn't possibly know that those are two different cars. It makes no sense unless they could make that seduction date much more romantic. It should be a few dates and a slower build. Maybe Erin could entrap Max into entering the apartment which would make her feel guilty. This is a big problem in the heart of the premise. It's a B-thriller with an issue.
