    Challenging, frustrating, but fun.

The Mega Man series of games have been known for their distinctly similar, but engaging gameplay. Starting out on the NES a decade ago, the games have become popular and renowned throughout the world. Now with Zero in the spotlight, it's equally fast-paced and enjoyable as it's blue bomber.

Zero has all the best of the series with some new features. Sure you beat the bad robot at the end and obtain his power, but with a twist. Not only do you have to beat the boss with a particular element, but it also works against enemies, sub-bosses, and reaching secret areas. The graphics are not nothing to write home about but the animation, especially the boss characters and Zero himself is kick-ass. The game is hard. Really hard. I found myself dying a lot in this game than any other GBA title I've ever played.

For all it's glitz and glory, Mega Man has some pretty nice tunes to go along with the action. My favorite is the ice stage, where you slice and dice not to mention blast your way through enemies until you meet the final boss of that stage. Speaking of bosses, they're very challenging too; you must memorize their attack patterns in order to defeat them to advance and so on and their little pieces of dialog with the player is both entertaining and menacing at the same time. The sound is great with it's laser blaster, explosions, and beeps and bops soundtrack on the levels helps keep things interesting.

If you're a fan of the Mega Man series, then this is the game for you. However, if you are weary, then this won't change your mind. The adage "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" rings true here as for every iteration of this series but for those of you who want variety in their side-scrolling action games, better look elsewhere. Still, Mega Man Zero 2 is the best of the series.

    Great game on the GBA.

I gotta say, this is one of the most challenging games on the GBA. The first stage is easy but from there it goes downhill in a big way not only from the levels which feature a lot of traps and hazards, but also from the bosses themselves. Memorizing their attack patterns and striking at the right moment is the only way to succeed because this is not a game that you can beat very quickly and you often die a lot.

This is a game mostly suited for hardcore gamers. I would not advise casual gamers or young kids playing this because they will get frustrated very quickly. Buy this game if you're a hardcore gamer, but if your new to the franchise, proceed with caution because you'll be in for a rude awakening.

In the original Japanese version of the game, the player can use the Chain Rod to zip vertically through thin walls. This glitch was fixed in all other versions of the game.
