A new episode of the mystery celebrity singing competition aired on Wednesday night (November 13) on Fox.

The show, which began in South Korea, features celebrities singing songs while wearing costumes and face masks concealing their identities until they’re eliminated. Throughout the season, the contestants provide clues to try and help the judges and fans figure out who is under the mask.

This season also features Ambassadors, who are all alums of the series, that have a special connection to each singer and will be providing major new clues about their friends’ identities.

During the episode, the Group C contestants – Royal Knight, Ice King, Sherlock Hound, Strawberry Shortcake, and Macaron – hit the stage for performances.

For the fourth year in a row, the Ambie Awards celebrated the brightest creators in the world of podcasting. On March 26, drag queen Trixie Mattel hosted a lively ceremony that honored the best audio shows across 27 categories.

The Ambies are overseen and voted on by the Podcast Academy, a group that was established just a few months before the inaugural Ambies in 2020. Slate is now supersizing the audio series by ordering two seasons at once. The company is preparing a seasons on the Briggs Initiative—the country’s first statewide referendum on gay rights as well as Fox News.

The idea is the two seasons will appeal to both long-term Slow Burn fans as well as new listeners who are interested in news and politics but are looking for a different way into the discussions as the country heads closer to a Presidential election.

Created by “Veep” writers Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory and directed by David Mandel, the “Seinfeld” alum who ran “Veep” after the departure of Armando Iannucci, “White House Plumbers” charts the awkward bromance of two men who tried and failed to break into the Watergate Hotel. The result is a shotgun marriage of “Step Brothers” and “Slow Burn.”

MGM+ has given the green light to Hollywood Black, a documentary series from director Justin Simien that aims to serve as “a definitive chronicle of a century of the Black experience in Hollywood.”

The four-part series, based on the work of scholar Donald Bogle, is being produced by Simien’s Culture Machine, Forest Whitaker and Nina Yang Bongiovi’s Significant Productions, and the Academy Award-winning production company RadicalMedia.

It’s been 50 years since the Watergate scandal broke — but thanks to today’s television landscape, it’s still part of the conversation. With a dozen films and TV shows made about the political scandal, writer Robbie Pickering set out to tell a different story with Starz’s “Gaslit” — the one of Martha Mitchell, the wife of Richard Nixon’s attorney general John N. Mitchell and the first person to publicly speak out about the former president’s role in Watergate.

But heading into the topic was a heavy lift. Pickering, who is part of Variety’s Virtual TV Fest taking place June 7-9, has been obsessed with the topic for years — even more so when he listened to Slate’s “Slow Burn” podcast. Still, he felt there was still something new to tell.

The drama, starring Julia Roberts as Martha and Sean Penn as John, comes from executive producer Robbie Pickering (“Mr. Robot”), who told TheWrap he had been wanting to do a story set in the Nixon era for quite some time.
