Austin Nichols has spoken about a moment from early in his acting career that he now views with discomfort. While appearing on the Drama Queens podcast, Nichols described his experience filming a kiss scene with then-15-year-old Mary-Kate Olsen in the 2001 teen movie Holiday in the Sun, saying the situation felt inappropriate at the time.
“I was definitely nervous because Mary-Kate was 15, and I was, I think, 18 or 19, or maybe even 20,” Nichols said. “I don’t remember, but I was too old, and it felt weird, and it felt wrong.”
He explained that although the characters appeared age-compatible on screen, he remained aware of the age difference while filming. “I looked very young, so watching the movie, I don’t think you notice. I’m real tall and skinny and, like, nerdy, but I don’t think you can tell there’s a big age difference. But for my brain,...

Nearly 25 years later, one of the Olsen Twins‘ leading men is reflecting on the problematic nature of their onscreen romance.
Austin Nichols, who starred alongside the twins in 2001’s Holiday in the Sun, recalled that his kiss scene with Mary-Kate Olsen “felt wrong,” acknowledging that she and Ashley were “children” at the time.

If you're of a certain age, you basically grew up with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the twins who took Hollywood by storm from the late 1980s through the mid-2000s. After getting their start on an uber-popular sitcom, the twins were known for their films, many of which brought them all over the world, and it certainly seemed like they were on the brink of forming an enormous entertainment empire. Then, the two basically disappeared from the entertainment industry and shifted their focus to something completely different: high fashion.
So, why aren't the two acting anymore, and what are they doing today? More specifically, why did they leave Hollywood behind for a brand new journey ... and did any of their family members take their place on the big and small screen? (The answer to that last one is yes, actually.) Here's everything we know about the world-famous Olsen twins, why they stopped acting,...

I’m still not over Blue Bloods’ cancelation.
I haven’t deleted the series finale from my DVR and have watched bits and pieces of it over again, and can safely say it was one of the best episodes in a season full of them.
Our Blue Bloods Season 14 report card considers that this farewell season didn’t feel like a show going off the air—and that the final episode should have been a season finale, not a series finale.
(CBS/Michael Parmalee)
While a few episodes had a sillier premise than I would like (I’m rarely a fan of Danny partnering up with a random guest star who annoys the hell out of him), every episode offered solid stories and the family values that made Blue Bloods such a wonderful series.
Even the worst episode of Blue Bloods Season 14 was some of the best that television has to offer.

The following contains major spoilers for Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 15, "No Good Deed," which debuted Friday, Nov. 15 on CBS.
Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 15, "No Good Deed" nearly gives fans a heart attack -- for a good reason. The CBS show teaches a bunch of lessons in this installment, which effectively balances all of its multiple storylines. And while the different plots are a little contrived in places, the entertainment value is strong enough that those bits can be reasonably overlooked.
"No Good Deed" is named because of Eddie Janko-Reagan's story, in which she witnesses a police recruit foil a hostage situation -- but then learns his heroic act is likely to cost him his place at the academy. Meanwhile, a drug investigation almost downsizes the Reagan family, yet that's part of an effective storyline for Danny Reagan and Joe Hill. Everything serves its purpose in an episode that gets the...

Blue Bloods season 14, episode 14, "New York Minute," wasted the opportunity to bring back one of Jamie Reagan's (Will Estes) best skills in Rachel Witten's (Lauren Patten) latest storyline. Witten is a former NYPD officer who is initially fired from the NYPD in one of Blue Bloods' best episodes because she causes public perception of the NYPD to take a hit. However, Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) later reinstates her, leading to her working with Eddie (Vanessa Ray) for two years before retiring permanently from police work because of the stress involved in the job.
Witten returns in "New York Minute" as a social worker, a job that fits her personality and desire to help others. Her return causes a dilemma for Eddie when Witten asks her to keep quiet about her triggering a client to physically attack her to get city services...

Warning! Spoilers for Blue Bloods season 14, episode 14 ahead.Henry had a deeper reason for opposing Danny's award than he claimed in Blue Bloods season 14. One of the best aspects of the long-running procedural is the sense of family unity between the Reagans. Howver, the Reagan family was divided over whether Danny should receive the Irish Society award. The issue came up after Blue Bloods' Grace Edwards returned with the news that she was rescinding the offer of the award, supposedly because Danny was a "loose cannon" who would make the society look bad if he received an award.
The issue became so contentious that Blue Bloods' Reagan family dinner in season 14 episode 14, "New York Minute," became unpleasant instead of being the usual break from the drama of the outside world. Danny even left early after learning that his grandfather, father, and siblings had debated whether he should get the award...

The following contains major spoilers for Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 14, "New York Minute," which debuted Friday, Nov. 8 on CBS.
Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 14, "New York Minute" feels like it's looking backward rather than forward. It's not uncommon for shows to get a little retrospective during their final seasons, or to bring back old characters for one last hurrah. This episode does both, as it's driven mostly by two returning guest stars: Lorl Loughlin as Grace Edwards and Lauren Patten as Rachel Witten. The Reagan family still has plenty to do, but it's the guest characters who are at the heart of the action, and that plus some half-finished plots means that the episode isn't as exciting as it could have been.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 14 “New York Minute.”] The Reagans get to celebrate the late member of their family, Joe (who died before the series began), in a way they never could in the latest episode of Blue Bloods. Near the beginning of the episode, Frank (Tom Selleck) learns that the Irish Society pulled an invitation to honor Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) with a service award (before the detective even knew about it). It seems to be a first in the 100-odd years of honoring cops and firefighters. The determining factor is, ostensibly, Danny’s reputation and baggage. The mouthpiece is Grace Edwards (Lori Loughlin), with whom Frank previously crossed paths. He sets a meeting with her away from his office—as he does when one might get overheated—and tries to appeal to her. She says that stains in the press and public perception are hard to remove, even as Frank...

“Ed Wood” producer Denise Di Novi detailed her own love of the film three decades later, explaining why “Ed Wood” is one of the most personal projects for both her and longtime collaborator Burton to date. After working as the creative consultant on David Cronenberg’s iconic “Videodrome,” Di...

The Olsen twins transitioned from TV to movies to fashion, achieving remarkable success and a combined net worth of $500 million. Their careers include a rise in the fashion industry with multiple lines, including the luxury brand The Row that earns $100-200 million annually. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are Geminis known for constantly juggling careers and passions, establishing themselves as fashion icons and industry leaders.
The Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, have gone from TV stars to movie stars to fashion stars all within a very short amount of time and have earned themselves a very significant net worth. The pop culture icons have basically lived three different lives in their relatively short time in the public arena. First, the Olsen twins starred on Full House, both playing youngest daughter Michelle Tanner. Then the Olsens embarked on a series of movies whose quality is much better than their direct-to-video status would suggest.

14 city tracks from Mario Kart Tour were remade and added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe via the Booster Course Pass Dlc. All 14 correspond to a real-life city, using iconic landmarks for the track design and local music for the soundtrack. The city tracks uniquely change course on almost every lap, but some are still rather boring compared to the better ones.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has not been left wanting for track variety, especially following the Booster Course Pass' addition of 48 new tracks, 14 of which are based on real-life cities. These aren't entirely new tracks, as they originally hail from Mario Kart Tour, the series' mobile entry, but were revamped for their inclusion in MK8. While seeing real-world locales recreated for a Mario Kart track is endearing, some are significantly more fun to race through than others.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are an institution. From their debut on Full House, where both twins shared the role of Michelle Tanner (starting when they were only infants), the two sisters grew up never out of the public eye. While popular on the show, they parlayed their success to become a brand, launching a series of successful direct-to-video movies, followed by big-screen outings such as It Takes Two and New York Minute. But, what’s extra impressive about the twins is that, despite growing up under a microscope, the two seem to have always had an excellent sense for business, to the point that both are almost retired at this point, at the run old age of only thirty-six.
Neither Mary-Kate nor Ashley Olsen ever generated much controversy, with even tabloid coverage of the two rarely going beyond teenage hijinx. Their sister, Elizabeth Olsen, is famous for playing Scarlett Witch in the MCU movies,...

“Ozark” fans, rejoice. The Jason Bateman and Julia Garner-starring drama series is returning to Netflix in April with a second part to its fourth season — and it’s just one of many other hotly anticipated titles coming to the streamer this month.
April will also see the long-awaited sophomore installment to “Russian Doll,” the mind-bending “Groundhog Day”-esque dramedy series starring Natasha Lyonne as a hard-partying New York City woman stuck in a brain-melting circuitous loop from hell.
For fans of capital-m mess, there’s the Spanish-language “Elite,” which traces the scandalous (and often murderous) exploits of the posh attendees of high school Las Encinas. Or, if you prefer your glamorous mess via reality series, “Selling Sunset” — about the lux real estate market in Los Angeles — is premiering its fifth season April 22.

A list of new streaming releases on Netflix, what a concept!
Netflix’s list of new releases for April 2022 is highlighted by the return of one of the great sci-fi comedies ever. Natasha Lyonne is set to return as the temporally displaced Nadia on Russian Doll season 2 on April 20. The first season of the show premiered in 2019 and appeared to tell a rather complete story about one Brooklyn woman’s experiences of dying over and over again. But Lyonne and fellow producers Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler still have some story to tell. Netflix is undoubtedly very happy to let them continue to tell it.

Our lips refuse to stay sealed about these cameos. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who turn 35 on June 13, last appeared on-screen together in 2004's New York Minute, but that hasn't stopped their loyal fanbase from being obsessed with their vast vault of TV movies, which we lovingly refer to as the Olsen Cinematic Universe. Like its Marvel counterpart, the Ocu was a breeding ground for up-and-coming talent, a pit stop on their way to Hollywood. Just look at Megan Fox, who made her acting debut in 2001's Holiday in the Sun. Michael Cera also made his first on-screen appearance in one of Mary-Kate and Ashley's movies, showing off his comedic timing at an early age. Plus, Eric...

"Boys may come and go, but we'll always have each other, and that's not just in the movies." This was the final line said in Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's final straight-to-video film, 2003's The Challenge, after they were confronted by their boyfriends of movie past. For their loyal fans, it was thrilling to see the meta moment as the twins interacted with their fictional selves' love interests, including the one who gave Mary-Kate her first on-camera kiss. A year later, they shared the screen in New York Minute, with Jared Padalecki and Riley Smith serving as their final final fictional beaus. While the 34-year-old twins retired from acting and now run...

Elizabeth Olsen is currently starring in one of the biggest TV shows around, WandaVision. But her star has been on the rise ever since she made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Avengers: Age of Ultron back in 2015. Be that as it may, quite a few people are just now discovering that Olsen has a couple of famous sisters, namely Mary-Kate and Ashely Olsen.
On Twitter, and other social media sites, people have been expressing their surprise in discovering that the three Olsens are indeed related. Yes, Elizabeth Olsen is the sister of the famous twins who starred in Full House, as well as a bunch of movies in the 90s and early 2000s. One Twitter user who simply goes by Madi summed up what is going on in the world of social media with the following.
"I just found out that Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) from the Marvel universe is literally a f****** Olsen sister?...

In the spring of 2019, while Jared Padalecki was finishing shooting what would become the penultimate season of “Supernatural,” he began to sketch out an idea for his next project. After starring in the WB Network/CW drama alongside Jensen Ackles since 2005, Padalecki’s first thought was of continuing their partnership beyond that one show.
“I was tired of being on camera for 20 years straight,” he says. “I wanted to produce a show called ‘Walker’ starring Jensen Ackles.”
“Walker” would be a reimagining of the enduring CBS series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” which ran for nine seasons between 1993 and 2001 and starred martial artist and actor Chuck Norris in the ass-kicking titular role. But unlike the new versions of vintage series that the CW has launched before, from “90210” to “Melrose Place,” “Walker” will not continue the world or any of the characters of the original show. We might be stuck indoors this Halloween weekend, but thankfully, the various major streaming services are on hand to keep us occupied with a monumental mountain of new content heading our way over the next few days. As it’s both the end of the month and the beginning of November, the likes of Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu and Prime Video are adding a mix of seasonal movies and TV shows today and tomorrow, and a whole load of freshly licensed titles on Sunday.
First of all, Netflix is dropping five new originals this Friday, October 30th, including a couple of horrors, like The Day of the Lord and His House. November is the last month of the year for sensible viewing, before our TV screens become full-time broadcasters of golden retrievers saving Christmas and Will Ferrell wearing tights. Take the opportunity then, to get some good stuff in before the festivities.
In terms of good stuff, Netflix is offering the second series of the brilliantly wry and surprisingly touching The End of the F***ing World for any UK viewers who didn’t catch it on Channel 4. There’s also the excellent animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (we loved it. 5 stars.) as well as Boots Riley’s inventive, funny, political satire Sorry to Bother You (we also loved it. 4.5 stars.) On top of that, you can take a nostalgic trip to Capeside with all six seasons of Dawson’s Creek or watch emotionally repressed royals deal with the advent of the 1980s in season four of The Crown.

HBO Max has a major job on its hands to justify its approximately $15 a month subscription fee, especially given the strong competition out there from established names like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Disney Plus faced a similar challenge last year in arriving onto an already-saturated streaming marketplace, but at least had the advantage of major series like The Mandalorian to promote. While HBO Max will eventually be home to the Snyder cut of Justice League, and has some originals for its first week of availability, the big draw right now is its enormous back-catalogue of movies.
Given the various corporate elements that are going into HBO Max, including the Warner Bros. library, owners AT&T will be hoping that the combination of brand recognition for HBO programming, and a deep bench of movies, will convince people to add a new subscription to their list. Shows like I May Destroy You (June 7), Perry Mason (June 21), and I’ll Be Gone in the Dark (June 28) all belong to HBO…which now just happens to be a part of HBO Max. Confusing stuff, we know, but rest assured that if you have HBO Max you’ll get these shows…and if you only have HBO, you can go ahead and just get HBO Max for the same price anyway.
