    Great Indie Spider-Man

Dan Poole has taken over the adaptation of the famous comic book Amazing Spider-Man #121 and #122 (The Night Gwen Stacy Died) which suggests that Dan has a taste for great stories.

    Pros:
    • Atmosphere of the 90s and the spirit of the classic stories about the Spider
    • Tricks, they are magnificent! Dan Poole put his life on the line to make his dream come true - absolute respect! Many will say that the effects are obsolete like explosive bombs or the flight of the Goblin on the Glider, but as for me they are beautifully implemented, especially for an indie film + given the limited budget
    • Also, one of the highlights of the film is the acting of the actor James Kinstle (Norman Osborn) he was simply created for the role of the Green Goblin
Cons: Not enough dialogue, the conversation between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy was great, there should be more dialogue like this.

I recommend watching this movie, you will like it)

    Dan Poole's enthusiasm

I've watched it so many times and am ready to watch it again!

This fan movie deserves attention for all Spider-Man fans as it is filmed with soul and passion!

The acting game for the film is decent, the actor who played the Green Goblin was especially pleased) Den Poole turned out to be a good Spider-Man, and his acrobatics are just brilliant.

The story is adapted from the plot of Amazing Spider-Man # 121 and # 122 "The Night Gwen Stacy Died". In my opinion, they did a great job of conveying the story, but I would add more dialogue!

I wish Den Poole had posted a 1989 fan movie "Mysterio"

    Great Stuff

This is a great indy film based on the best Spiderman comic storyline. The thing was shot with no CG on a barebones budget and, despite this, its still very cool and entertaining. Its certainly not as good as Raimi's Spiderman 2 (which is, in my opinion, easily the best comic film yet) but I actually prefer it to Spiderman 1. Despite the lack of CG, the acrobatics actually work fairly well and the action seems often more authentic than CG. One key strength the film has is the actor who plays the Green Goblin. The guy delivers a deliciously appropriate over the top performance that really captures the character (even the voice is absolutely perfect) in ways that Dafoe doesn't quite match. Poole does a nice job as Spiderman too. He is not as good as Toby McGuire but does manage to deliver a solid performance and, again, his acrobatics were a real strength.

Of course, being such a low budget picture, it does run into a few snags. The most noticeable foible is that the Green Goblin doesn't fly very convincingly. Also, the film is short (only 50 minutes) and as such does not go into a great deal of character development. Poole stated in an interview he wishes he would have cut out the restaurant scene. I disagree. He needed more scenes like that. As is, the story works well but I would certainly have opened the picture with the set of scenes better detailing the death of Gwen's father (perhaps tying it into how the Osborne was committed) and her resulting hate of Spiderman. Still, it is a fine picture and Dan Poole should be proud of his efforts. It is a shame Marvel has not seen fit to make use of Poole's talents in some fashion as I would love to see a big budget film benefit from his creative influence.

    A True Piece of Art

Watching this film really made me appreciate the amount of hard work and passion Dan Poole put into it, and watching the behind the scenes documentary afterwards made me appreciate the cast and crew even more. This may seem like a spotty, first attempt feature film made by a Spider-Man fan but the Green Goblin's Last Stand is a true masterpiece in fan film cinema! I would highly recommend this film to anyone who loves watching fan films, especially anyone who is a Spider-Man fan!

    Easily The Best Spider-Man Fanfilm

I've watched this movie a couple times once in the early days of YouTube maybe circa 2006? And was blown away then and I rewatched it this year to see if it held up to my memory and it really does. It's truly beautiful obviously given the nearly nonexistent budget and time in which it was made the image quality is what it is, but the audio engineering is better than most fan films made today, the cinematography and acting are great, it's all practical effects so there's no badly aged CGI. This FEELS like a proper Spider-Man film with a proper run time to boot. The cast is perfect when I think live action Spider-Man honestly this one always comes to mind the suit looks great, it doesn't look store bought, but it doesn't look so over the top that it doesn't look like something Peter could have easily made himself. I could rave about his movie for hours, do yourself a favor sit down with some popcorn and check it out for yourself especially! If you're a fan of the comics or older superhero media.
