Big Brother 26 spoilers about who won the Endurance Challenge (Wall Comp) to become the Week 5 Hoh
Quinn Martin
The first Big Brother 26 Endurance Challenge was a dud.

Fans who waited all season for a battle of endurance were rewarded with the Wall Competition on Thursday night (August 15). But it didn’t last long.

Roughly three hours after Cedric Hodges was sent home, the remaining players competed to become Head of Household.

Everyone (even Angela Murray and Quinn Martin) got to compete in a battle of endurance to take the Week 5 power.

After Cedric Hodges got blindsided and sent home, this was an important week to be in charge. And several people knew it.

The Live Feeds waited until after the West Coast had viewed the August 15 episode, and then everyone got to watch the challenge live.

Who won the Wall Competition on Big Brother 26?

Let’s put it this way; the Wall Competition was so short that the producers must add filler content for when it is featured on the August 18 episode.

Stephen Colbert Couldn't Keep A Straight Face Over Glen Powell's Failed Reality TV Stint On A "Cheap" Version Of Survivor
Image
Glen Powell shared embarrassing reality TV show stint on Endurance with Stephen Colbert, who couldn't stop laughing. Fans surprised by Powell's failed experience, recalling Endurance as iconic despite its short-lived run on TV. Powell now balancing acting career with returning to University of Texas to complete degree.

We have seen this in the past, Stephen Colbert unable to keep a straight face after an interview reveal. It took place in 2023 after Sandra Bullock revealed the only autograph she ever asked for (Daniel Radcliffe). However, it happened again recently, as Glen Powell spilled the details on his failed reality TV show experience. Now it wasn't quite Survivor, but hardcore fans of Endurance will tell you it was even better.

Let's recap Powell's reveal and how Colbert reacted. Endurance was a big deal during the early 2000s. However, for Powell, it was all a forgettable experience given how short-lived it proved to be.

Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over Glen Powell Was Meant For Stardom Right From His First Movie Role
Image
Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over premiered in 2003, taking advantage of the 3-D craze with young actor Glen Powell in a small role. Powell's career exploded post-Spy Kids, reaching A-list status after Top Gun: Maverick. His first film role was a confident performance. Despite initial setbacks on TV's Endurance, Powell's career ascended, showcasing his passion for acting in diverse roles.

Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, the third film in Robert Rodriguez's kids' spy franchise, features a very young Glen Powell in a small role. The third installment in the Spy Kids movie franchise premiered in 2003, taking full advantage of the 3-D craze at the time. The film sees Juni (Daryl Sabara) traveling into the Tron-like virtual reality world of "Game Over" where he competes against and with other agents and players to beat the game and save his sister, Carmen (Alexa Vega), who has disappeared into the game.

Stephen Colbert Unearths Rare Clip of Glen Powell on Reality TV as a Child (Video)
Image
Glen Powell is riding high after a string of successful movies, including Top Gun: Maverick, Hit Man, and the new disaster movie spinoff Twisters. However, Stephen Colbert reminded the Scream Queens alum of one of his earliest on-screen appearances, one Powell would rather forget. Appearing on Wednesday’s (July 17) episode of The Late Show, Powell was surprised when Colbert brought up “one of his earliest forays into the world of action that wasn’t as successful.” The late-night host then unveiled a photo of a 13-year-old Powell on the Discovery Kids reality show Endurance, which aired between 2002 and 2008. “It’s really pretty hard for me to talk about, to be honest,” Powell said. “I’ve never talked about this publicly ever. The fact they pulled this out is shocking, but here we go. I was 13, I was on a show called Endurance; it’s basically a kids Survivor type show.

“The amount of sh*t I got was extraordinary”: Glen Powell Went Through the Most Awful Moment Before He Could Flaunt His Body in Top Gun: Maverick Beach Scene
Image
Glen Powell was probably one of the best parts of 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick. Sure, the story and the action sequences were pretty damn good too but Hangman was certainly a treat to the eyes. However, Glen Powell was not always this ripped, obviously. It took a lot of perseverance and “Endurance” to get where he is today, quite literally.

Glen Powell in Top Gun: Maverick (2022) | Paramount Pictures

When Glen Powell was in his teenage years, he was offered a part in Endurance, a reality show that follows a similar script to that of CBS’ Survivor. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out for the actor on the show and he was eliminated much earlier than he expected. When he went back to school, he faced a lot of embarrassment thanks to his fellow students. That was when Glen Powell decided that he was going to turn his life around for good.

Who is Law & Order's New District Attorney?
Image
Law & Order began airing in 1990 and launched a new and unique way for audiences to watch television shows about the law. Each episode of Law & Order is essentially split in half -- first, audiences spend time with NYPD Detectives who must solve a homicide, and then viewers watch as the members of the District Attorney's office take the case to court. The detectives and lawyers overlap throughout the episode, as there isn't a distinct line drawn at the 30-minute mark, but the perspectives of the show make a noticeable shift once the perpetrator is caught.

The lawyers of the District Attorney's office are just as important to the show as the NYPD Detectives are. On Law & Order's spinoff shows, like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, there is often more time spent with the police than the law, but the original Law & Order remains consistently 50% police,...

National Geographic Executives Courteney Monroe & Carolyn Bernstein Double Down On Docs, Laud “Bespoke” Approach
Image
Clouds of gloom have settled over much of the documentary field, brought on by multiple factors: a sluggish acquisition market, cutbacks in the executive ranks at Netflix and Showtime, uncertainty around Hulu’s future, CNN Films taking doc production in house, sharper scrutiny of budgets and content needs, and… well, the list goes on.

But there’s at least one bright spot it the nonfiction firmament – National Geographic Documentary Films. Coming off its latest Oscar nomination – for the feature Fire of Love – the unit of the Walt Disney Company is leaning into documentary production with half a dozen films set for release or in the works.

First up: Wild Life, a film Carolyn Bernstein, EVP of global scripted content and documentary films for NatGeo, calls “a big, beautiful love story.” The couple at the heart of it – Doug and Kris Tompkins — left the corporate world for life in remote Chile.

Image
Exclusive: Oscar winners Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin and BAFTA-nominated director Natalie Hewit are boarding the National Geographic documentary Endurance (working title), the incredible story of “the epic search to find the lost ship of Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton.”

The announcement comes almost exactly a year after Shackelton’s ship Endurance was discovered eerily intact on the Weddell Sea floor near the northernmost part of the Antarctic, more than a hundred years after the vessel sank. The Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust organized and funded the mission to find the historic wreck.

Shackelton and his crew of 27 set sail in late 1914 on an exploratory mission endorsed by Winston Churchill, then Britain’s First Lord of the Admiralty. The ship became trapped in sea ice, forcing the crew to quit the vessel and set up camp on an ice floe.

Hot Wheels Movie Speeds Ahead With New Writers
Image
The live-action Hot Wheels movie has officially found its writers. Mattel has been developing Hot Wheels toys since 1968, and the scale model cars have been a childhood staple ever since. While intended to be a competitor for Matchbox toys by offering kids the opportunity to play with models of real-world cars, Hot Wheels has developed into a brand of toys and collectibles.

Development of a Hot Wheels movie was announced in 2003 but stagnated numerous times along the way with Columbia Pictures and Legendary Pictures. Now, Warner Bros. will be producing the film based on the toy line.

Big Brother 24 spoilers: Who won the Week 6 Power of Veto?
Image
Matt Turner gets an easy week on Big Brother 24. Pic credit: CBS

Big Brother 24 spoilers from the live feeds have revealed what happened during the Veto Competition today.

It is Week 6 for the BB24 cast, and a new Head of Household has been trying to make some big moves in the game.

Taylor Hale won the late-night Endurance Challenge right after Daniel Durston got evicted. This allowed Taylor some safety for the week, and she also got to enjoy some time without Daniel bad-mouthing her.

Outside of the house, Daniel was blaming other houseguests for his behavior toward Taylor, something that Kat Dunn wasn’t going to stand for when she interviewed him.

On Friday, Taylor nominated Terrance Higgins and Indy Santos for eviction. Taylor told her alliances that it is Terrance who she wants out this week, so he was the primary target.

Saturday afternoon, six people played in the latest Veto Competition.

Big Brother 24’s Daniel Durston caught in lies about Taylor Hale during interview with Kat Dunn
Image
Daniel Durston finished in 12th place on Big Brother 24. Pic credit: CBS

Daniel Durston was evicted from Big Brother 24 and has begun doing his post-show interviews, leading him to answer some questions from BB21 cast member Kat Dunn.

During his time on the show, Daniel received a lot of flak for what many Big Brother fans saw as bullying and the ostracizing of Taylor. And his behavior toward Taylor became the part of several segments on the show itself.

Now that he is out of the game, Daniel is backpedaling on a lot of the things that he said, and he is claiming that the producers are giving him a “villain edit” while giving Taylor the “hero edit” this summer.

When Kat asked Daniel about that, he claimed that Taylor called Jasmine Davis “fat” in the house, but that was something that never happened. It was one of several comments...

Stunning Discovery of Shackleton Expedition Ship Is a Story You’ll Be Able to Watch Soon
Image
Over 100 years after explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Endurance was shipwrecked, The New York Times reported on March 9 that the ship has been discovered. The miraculous story is now set to become a NatGeo documentary.

Airing as part of the network’s “Explorer” franchise this fall, “Endurance” will chart the discovery of Sir Shackleton’s shipwrecked Endurance, which sank in the Antarctic in 1915. The ship was located at the bottom of the Weddell Sea, east of the Antarctic Peninsula, using undersea drones. The Endurance22 search expedition team had been searching for more than two weeks in a 150-square-mile area around where the 144-foot wooden ship went down. The wreck was found at a depth of 3,008 meters.

NatGeo is partnering with ABC News, Snow’s History Hit, All3Media label Little Dot Studios, and Consequential for the feature, directed by BAFTA nominee Natalie Hewit.

However, nearing Antarctica, the ship became trapped in pack ice and sank in 1915. The crew made it by sea to uninhabited Elephant Island before Shackleton and five men set off...

Brian Michael Bendis Will Write a Year-Long Batman Story in New Batman Giant Comic Book
After years of writing great comic book stories for Marvel Comics, Brian Micheal Bendis headed over to DC Comics to try something new and play with their characters. Well, it has been announced that he'll write a new 12-part Batman story arc in Batman Giant. This is the first time he will be writing a story for the Dark Knight and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with the character.

This comic is a part of DC's new line of 100-page Giant comics for Walmart. Bendis has had his fair share of working with dark, gritty, and grounded heroes in the past such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones, so Batman should be a fun character for him to play with.

What's interesting is that Bendis is currently writing Superman for DC and while he's taking on Batman for DC's Walmart-exclusive titles, DC's Batman writer Tom King will write a 12-issue Superman story arc.

Endurance cast member on Intervention, addicted to snorting "bath salts"
Last night's Intervention featured Skyler Russell, a 24-year-old addicted to a drug disguised as bath salts; he appeared at age 14 on the first season of Discovery Kids' Endurance (which was Survivor for teenagers). He and his orange team partner placed fifth; that season's winner was The Real World Cancun cast member Jonna Mannion. The episode suggested Skyler's mother was kind of a stage mom ("I pushed him every direction ... and I pushed hard,"...

Opportunity Knocks Is ABC’s First Fall Cancellation
Not every reality show Ashton Kutcher touches turns to gold. After the relative successes of Punk’d and Beauty and the Geek, his latest show, ABC’s Opportunity Knocks, has been canceled after only three episodes, making it the first show on the network to get the axe. There are six episodes left to air, which ABC claims it will do somewhere down the line, but for now the slot will be replaced with a Dancing with the Stars recap show, since it’s not like ABC doesn’t show that show often enough. You know what I think went wrong here? Ashton Kutcher’s production company teamed up with 3Ball Entertainment, a company created for seemingly the sole purpose of giving one of 3Ball’s founders, Jd Roth, employment. He hosted the show, just as he hosts another 3Ball show called Endurance and provides the narration for The Biggest Loser—another 3Ball show.
