A very good sequel to an incredible tv-series...

Two years after the creation of Love-Hina (the first real anime I have ever seen) Love Hina comes to remind us of the best elements of Love Hina. Incredible animation, beautiful music, an interesting plot and of course a lot of laughs!

The story begins at Toudai, the famous university that Keitaro and Naru kept trying for them to be accepted as students. But on the first day Keitaro breaks his leg (with a little help of his friends...) causing him to loose 3 months. After a visit to his home, he decides to follow Seta in archeological site excavations, leaving Naru troubled about his actions. The reason is that (yes) nothing really happened between them all this time (in other words, they are still not a couple...). Things get really complicated when Keitaro's little sister comes in search of her brother. But she is not really his sister and her views of Keitaro are rather ...complicated. This, of course, makes life difficult in Hinata Inn, especially for Naru...

Love Hina is a very good continuation of Love Hina, even though Keitaro is not really the main character but the character that Naru and Kanako fight for (and yes, I know how this sounds...). It's theme is rather a bit more sexual than the original series and to be honest this was a bit of alienating for me in the first place, but I guess it won't bother most of the people. I strongly recommend the series for the funs of Love Hina! They will just love it!

    Tired concept

Love Hina was funny partly because it was random. Love Hina Again takes this idea and throws it into the pit of hell.

Love Hina Again is 3 episodes, is completely mindless, makes no sense and contributes nothing to the original show. It has some of the classic gags from the first, with poor Kentaro's male instincts coming along with punishment from the insanity of Haruko & Co., but that's not enough to keep Love Hina Again afloat.

Good for a few laughs, but if you're looking for content, forget it. If you enjoy the humor of Love Hina, move on to something new like Golden Boy. This series has been worn out.

    The atmosphere has disappeared....

What happened? I don't understand how such a beautiful anime could be ruined by such a short and meaningless sequel.

What was the director thinking when he directed this follow-up series. Not only was it hard to understand at time, it had way to much of a sexual theme to make the viewing a little bit awkward if there were any kids watching.

Some of the content in it may even force censorship laws to rate it for adult viewing only, like as if it was a Japanese Hentai.

To the writers and director, I say you ruined one of the best animes there was.

    Its alright I guess.

Well, this part of Love Hina Again, its alright as I think it is, well still has some comedy in it, haha makes people laugh in some way. But, what lacks about Love Hina Again as the No. 2 of Love Hina, some of the scenes of Love Hina Again is too sexual. Which other people can get grossed out about it and making kids go very weird that one day parents would stop letting them watching this. Well, I think its alright, considering it also makes me laugh, its just the sexual parts and taking clothes off, its just might make other people go "Yuck" about it.

I'd say: The original Love Hina - the first one is better than I expected from this one. All the makers of this Love Hina Again has destroyed the good parts - Only the comedy has left, but all the good parts have been destroyed.

The OVA follows the storyline in the manga

Just to add a new point of view to the post from highflying falcon.

(Refer to the bottom for a small explanation about OVA series)

The OVA, unlike the TV episodes follows the storyline in the original manga more closely, hence it is not as suited for younger viewers.

I read the manga long before seeing the anime, and the feeling i got was that the anime ruined the series, Ken Akamatsu (The creator of Love Hina) uses a lot of "perverted" humor in all of his series. Since he writes the way he does, it becomes difficult to create an anime that can have such a broad aspect of viewers as the companies that made the anime wants. The result was that the storyline got chopped to bits, stupid side stories were added, scenes and dialog were changed to better suit younger viewers and the things that made me laugh in the manga disappeared, and sadly to top it all off all most the character development and the progress of the story had gone somewhere along the line. Therefore it was a welcome relief for me to see the OVA since it was mostly the same as the manga, both in storyline and artwork. But it is certainly understandable that people who hasn't read the manga will raise an eyebrow when watching this OVA since the styles get mixed up that badly. So lets hope they make an OVA of the TV series as well, like they currently are doing with Hellsing.

**OVA (Original Video Animation) means that it is a series that isn't aired on television, but is sent straight on the DVD market. This means that the developers doesn't have to worry about looming deadlines and hence have more time to make the product. Unlike the original Love Hina anime, Love Hina Again is an OVA.

    • Trivia
In the movie, the blade Motoko uses is not her usual polished steel Katana, but instead a very dark colored blade. Closer inspection of the sword's hilt reveals it is the Cursed Blade of Hina from the previously unreleased 25th Episode of the Love Hina TV series (this episode can now be found on the Love Hina Christmas Movie DVD). In Episode 25, it is revealed that her blade was broken in a duel with her older sister, but Keitaro gives her the cursed blade. Assumedly, Motoko kept the sword as her own since it appears in the movie.
    • Goofs
In Episode 1, when the plane is taking off, the spoilers of the aircraft are fully deployed. Spoilers are meant to spoil the airflow around the wings of an aircraft, and can only be used "partially" during approach, and deployed fully during landing, not during take-off.
