A great new comedy.

I just watched the first episode of the new Norm MacDonald comedy, "A Minute With Stan Hooper," and I thought it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV! Maybe it's just me, but this is "Newhart" with a Norm MacDonald twist. A good cast too -- veteran comics.

There were a lot of surprises -- not just the standard stale jokes that most sitcoms use. Norm MacDonald, as usual, deadpans his way to laughter. Definitely worth watching!

I thought this show lacked in any comedy. The laugh track was unbearable, and I find Norm MacDonald boring, and a bad actor. Though I'd have to admit, he had an excellent run on SNL. The show is basically a man and his wife getting back to the good ole times in Middle America. I'd have to say the only time I really laughed was the end, I won't say why though

Hopefully this could be a new Newheart

i have watched both episodes and it does bear a strange resemblance to "Newhart". A sane married couple from NY moving to a small town with eccentric people. Hopefully they could develop it long enough to make it lasting. Norm Macdonald is a great talent and I'd love to see him have a remembered show.

Looks good

I just saw the pilot for 'Stan Hooper' and I found it humorous and enjoyable. The first episode was just an introduction to all the characters, but still was funny. I am looking foward to the other episodes because it looks like this show has potential.

An embarrassment

Norm MacDonald is a comic genius, but Stan Hooper is just a huge embarrassment for him. The actors, other than Fred Willard, are awkward and amateurish. Norm himself looks stiff, which is a far cry from his entertaining stand-up acts, SNL skits, and even the Norm Show. If only he could get some real talent to help him out, Norm could get together a really huge hit show. As it is, FOX needs to unceremoniously dump this one so Norm can go back to the drawingboard.
