The collab is a pairing of Oklahoma underground talent, as heard on the lead single “Radioactive Dreams.” Pedigo’s atmospheric guitarwork guides the beginning of the song, offering his fans a rare chance to hear his musical stylings with lyrics via Chat Pile frontman Raygun Busch. The production is the feature directorial debut of Simon Barry, whose previous credits inlclude creator and showrunner on Netflix fantasy show Warrior Nun as well as Syfy show Ghost Wars.

The film, originally announced A Spy’s Guide To Survival, centers around a reclusive, retired spy who is brought out of hiding by his enigmatic new neighbor, digging up both of their secrets in the process.

Barry also takes writer credits for the screenplay, which is based on a story by his father Derek Barry.

Jim and Brian Kehoe, the brothers who wrote the 2019 high school comedy “Blockers,” are in talks to pen the screenplay. The logline is being kept under wraps.

“Double Fault” will be produced by Wilson and Todd Garner (“Senior Year”), with Brad Jenkel (“The Matador”) on board as executive producer.

Wilson recently starred in Netflix’s teen comedy “Senior Year,” in which she played a 37-year-old who wakes up from a coma and returns to high school to get her diploma.

In Variety’s review of “Senior Year,” Dennis Harvey praised Wilson as “a naturally gifted comedian” who pulls together the movie “through sheer force of personality and riffing performance chops.”

Skybound Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television’s Skybound Galactic joint venture have partnered with Italy’s Fabula to produce an Italian-language TV series adaptation of the Skybound/Image comic book “Clone.”

The young Italian screenwriters’ collective known as Grams, which wrote Netflix Italian original “Baby,” will adapt and showrun the live action series.

The comic book, created by David Schulner, follows Luke Taylor, whose life is interrupted when an identical, bloodied version of himself shows up at his home. The clone informs Luke that he’s one of a batch of clones who are all out to capture his pregnant wife and their unborn child.

Luna joins previously announced series leads Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, who will star as Joel and Ellie respectively. Luna will star as Tommy, Joel’s younger brother, a former soldier who hasn’t lost his sense of idealism and hope for a better world.

“The Last of Us” series was first announced as being in development at the premium cabler last March, with the show landing a formal series order in November. Based on the video game of the same name, the series takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Animal Kingdom‘s Christina Ochoa is set as a lead in ABC’s Promised Land, Matt Lopez’s Latinx family drama pilot.

Previously known as American Heritage, the project is an epic, generation-spanning drama about two Latinx families vying for wealth and power in California’s Sonoma Valley.

Ochoa will play Veronica Sandoval, the eldest daughter of the Sandovals, a wealthy vineyard-owning family in the Sonoma Valley. Veronica is the highly capable heir to the Heritage Wines empire and her father Joe’s trusted Number Two. But her drive and ambition have left her with some glaring personal blindspots, and Veronica’s seemingly perfect life soon starts to unravel.

Lopez writes and executive produces. Adam Kolbrenner of Lit Entertainment Group (Raised by Wolves) also exec produces. ABC Signature is the studio.

Pierce Brosnan is taking on his first role as a superhero. The actor has been cast as Dr. Fate in DC and New Line’s “Black Adam” alongside Dwayne Johnson, who is playing the titular role.

Dr. Fate, also known as Kent Nelson, is a founding member of the Justice Society who gains superpowers through putting on the magical Helmet of Fate. The casting of Brosnan completes the lineup for the Justice Society of America, with Aldis Hodge playing Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell taking on Cyclone.

“Black Adam” follows the story of the anti-hero of the same name, played by Johnson. The character of Black Adam first appeared in DC Comics in the 1940s as a power-corrupt villain, and slowly became an anti-hero by the 2000s, known for his disregard of rules and conventions.

“Black Adam” is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed Johnson in Disney’s “Jungle Cruise.

Robert Rodriguez only ended up directing an episode of The Mandalorian as a favor to his longtime close friend Jon Favreau after the original choice to tackle “The Tragedy” dropped out, but the Desperado filmmaker delivered one of the show’s best ever outings as well as the single most action-packed one, receiving rave reviews for his work in the process.

Lending a hand has suddenly turned into a full-time gig now following the news that Rodriguez has joined the established dream team of Favreau and Dave Filoni to executive produce next year’s Star Wars show The Book of Boba Fett, which has been confirmed as a four-episode miniseries that will take place concurrently to the events of The Mandalorian‘s third season, and it seems we won’t be seeing one helmeted bounty hunter replace the other as had been speculated in some quarters.

Isabella Gomez is set to lead the “Head of the Class” reboot pilot currently in the works at HBO Max, Variety has confirmed.

News of Gomez’s casting comes just one day after it was announced that “One Day at a Time” had been canceled for a second time. Gomez has starred on the show throughout its four season run.

The new version of “Head of the Class” is about a group of overachieving high school students who meet their greatest challenge — a teacher (Gomez) who wants them to focus less on grades and more on experiencing life.

Gomez takes over the role of the teacher played in the original series by Howard Hesseman and later Billy Connolly. . In addition to her work on “One Day at a Time,” Gomez’s past credits include “Big Hero 6: The Series,” “Modern Family,” “Matador,” and “Star vs. the Forces of Evil.”

Exclusive: Emmy-winning director Richard Shepard is set to direct and executive produce American Crime Story: Impeachment, Ryan Murphy’s upcoming FX limited series about the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky sex scandal. He is expected to be one of several producing directors on the series, including Ep Murphy.

The third season of American Crime Story will be based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President. While the former child star has been nominated three times for an Oscar for his performances in 2000’s historical epic “The Gladiator,” 2005’s musical biopic “Walk the Line” and 2012’s religious cult drama “The Master,” he has yet to take home a little gold man.

But the international journalists who decide who wins the Golden Globes nominated Phoenix for those efforts as well as two comedic roles in 2013’s “Her” and 2014’s “Inherent Vice.” This year, he is once again caught in the heat of competition as the favorite to win Best Film Drama Actor, according to Gold Derby’s combined user odds for his incredibly committed, sympathetic and disturbing interpretation of Batman’s smirking arch nemesis in the comic-book-inspired summer blockbuster “Joker.”

It’s punishment more than practice that makes “The Perfection,” which is less a horror film per se than a grisly yet upscale grand guignol melodrama. Richard Shepard’s very tricky suspense film, co-written with the TV writing-producing team of Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder, has been a success for Netflix. The streaming service released the film earlier this year, picking it up after it made a stir at Fantastic Fest 2018.

The tale of classical musicianship and elaborate revenge is easier to admire than actually like, given somewhat repellent content grounded in character psychology that does not bear close scrutiny after these terse 90 minutes are over. Still, the icily well-crafted gamesmanship Shepard and company have devised certainly makes that time pass quickly, if uncomfortably.

The director has turned mostly to small-screen work since his last theatrical feature, “Dom Hemingway” (2013), including a dozen episodes of “Girls,” whose Allison Williams plays the lead here.

Shepard’s feature films as writer/director include the 2018 horror film The Perfection, starring Allison Williams and Logan Browning for Netflix; the black comedy Dom Hemingway, starring Jude Law and Richard E. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has selected Dylan and Paris Brosnan as the Golden Globe Ambassadors for the 2020 Golden Globe Awards season. Dylan and Paris are the sons of two-time Golden Globe Award nominee Pierce Brosnan and filmmaker and environmentalist Keely Shaye Brosnan.

Their father is best known for portraying super spy James Bond in four films. He has earned two Golden Globe Award nominations: one in 1982 for the TV miniseries Nancy Astor, and one in 2005 for the dark comedy The Matador. The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television’s Class of 2019 is set for a Bond hearing this week: 007 alum Pierce Brosnan will deliver its 72nd annual commencement address Friday at Royce Hall.

The university also will bestow its Distinguished Alumni Award upon Star Trek original George Takei and Daughters of the Dust director Julie Dash (Class of ’85).

“We are delighted to welcome Pierce Brosnan, Julie Dash and George Takei as our 2019 Commencement Speaker and the recipients of our UCLA Tft 2019 Distinguished Alumni awards, respectively,” Schwartz says. “For Pierce Brosnan, his outstanding work as an actor in so many great films has inspired audiences worldwide.
