Wanda Sykes plays Wanda Hawkins. She lives in the same apartment building with her sister-in-law (Tammy Lauren) and her sister-in-law's son. Her wit and sarcasm lands her a job at a local TV station as a reporter.
Wanda Sykes is HILARIOUS. Both episodes kept me laughing from start to finish. If you aren't watching it, I really suggest you do. With the crazy stuff going on today, we need a good laugh. And this show delivers with excess. It's not just a show for black or white, young or old, etc.
Great show so far. Has the makings of an all-time best comedy show.
Rating: 10/10
Let's hope Fox doesn't catch on and start dumbing down and toning down this show. It's a welcome relief from all the "reality TV" crap.
I watched the pilot this week and found myself laughing out loud all the way through it. I really hope it does well and continues for a long time. It certainly made my week. WATCH THIS SHOW!
The show's plots were typical sitcom idiocy, either too bland or irritating to work well for Sykes. On top of that, many shows were centered around guys she was dating. But Sykes being gay was as obvious as it was for Ellen, and hiding that hurt the show.
See her stand up specials instead. She's hilarious.
