Aarón blames his father, the landlord Abraham Paredes for robbing him of his inheritance. Meanwhile at the local bar a fight starts when Corazón makes a food delivery and the owner, Estacia refuses to pay. Numa Pompilio is a rich family man and in war of life and death with the Paredes. He intercepts a letter correspondence between his daughter Yomira and one of Abraham's sons - Damián.

Numa Pompilio decides to put a fence around his land for protection. Corazón gets a prediction from her stepfather, the witch doctor Arcángel. The party at the Paredes hacienda is interrupted by Aarón and Abraham arguing about money, rights and the way his father threats Belinda, Aarón's mother.

Mauricio and the workers are forced to return home in the nude and Numa Pompilio punishes them for being humiliated by the Paredes. Esther is fussing over the arrival of her daughter and suggests to Aarón to become Corazón's godfather. Abraham gives his blessing to Gustavo to marry Eloisa.

Abraham is beaten by a scorpion and goes to Arcángel for help. Aarón gives to Corazón a present from Eloisa. The Paredes family welcomes Abraham's son Damián, who instead of becoming a lawyer, became a priest. Lídia can't persuade Aarón to marry her.

Corazón is baptized despite all her objections against Aarón being her godfather and feels betrayed by her own family. Yomira is happy and impatient to see Damián. During a family council Abraham clarifies to his children they'll live under his orders.

The Paredes family is looking after the beaten up Anastacio. Yomira is devastated to find Damián being a priest and only offering her pure friendship. Corazón shares with Mercedes her dream of becoming a great, sophisticated lady. Esther and Reinaldo welcome home their daughter María Angélica.

Corazón is wrecked with guilt after insulting Belinda and Eloisa shows up, bringing gifts and to offer her friendship. Aarón meets María Angélica. Abraham opens up to Belinda and demands the rest of her fortune in exchange for her liberty. Yomira suffers from a severe depression.

Numa Pompilio makes Mauricio write a note on Yomira's behalf to Damián. Corazón is furious with her family for accepting money from Abraham to refurnish the shack. Eloisa remodels the hacienda for her upcoming 15th birthday. María Angélica decides to play with Aarón.

Numa Pompilio is about to shoot Damián when Yomira turns up and announces he's a priest. Corazón is serving at María Angélica's fancy dinner when Aarón arrives and fills the drawing room with chickens. Abraham has a present for Eloisa and takes care of Damián's bruises.

Derián is outraged with Abraham when Jaime's shack burns down. Corazón brings homemade pastries to Belinda. Aarón promises his goddaughter to transform her into a lady. María Angélica wants to return to Maracaibo. Abelardo introduces himself to Anastacio.

Numa Pompilio accuses Abelardo for being a coward after letting Anastacio punch him. María Angélica acts all superior and threats Aarón like an ignorant peasant. Corazón returns Abraham's gifts and he is quite taken by her spunk. Damián offers Yomira an alliance in order to end the family war.

After the latest fight between Abelardo and Anastacio, Reinaldo and his brother Emilio summon the patrons of the clans at Estacia's bar. Corazón won't leave Belinda, who has a fever and Arcángel is called to cure her. María Angélica learns that Aarón has wagered to win her heart.

Corazón watches over Belinda and Arcángel has a premonition. Numa Pompilio welcomes his nephew Tiberio, who wants to avenge the murder of his father. Abelardo approaches Damián to discuss an eventual peace between the families. Lídia warns María Angélica to stay away from Aarón.

Mauricio and his cousins are drunk and in their blabbering Estacia overhears their intentions to crash Eloisa's birthday party. Arcángel encounters Abelardo and tells him about his premonition. Aarón gives a new dress and earrings to Corazón to wear for the party.

It's a beautiful evening and the Paredes hacienda is full with guests to celebrate Eloisa's birthday. Corazón is upset when she eavesdrops on Aarón proposing to María Angélica. Abelardo, all dressed up infiltrates the party while Mauricio and his cousins circle the hacienda.

The birthday girl is kissed by a stranger but becomes very unhappy when Abraham announces her engagement to Gustavo. Anastacio busts Abelardo. María Angélica mocks Aarón in front of her friends. Corazón realizes her love. Mauricio and his cousins are in peril.

When Numa Pompilio learns that a Sarmiento has been killed at the party, grabs his gun and storms into the Paredes hacienda. Arcángel predicts another death. Corazón is pouring her heartache in the church when Aarón turns up and starts asking her uncomfortable questions.

Aarón, heavily drunk arrives at Corazón's shack and mistakes her for María Angélica. Damián is thrown out from the Sarmiento hacienda in their hour of mourning. Numa Pompilio plots with Mauricio to poison Anastacio while he's in jail. Eloisa receives a present for her birthday from Corazón and they lay the foundation of a sincere friendship.

Abraham shouts at Eloisa for going to the Sarmientos to offer condolences. Abelardo confides in Yomira he's in love. Aarón maroons Corazón by the river and demands the keys for the handcuffs. Numa learns that the poisoned food for Anastacio has been delivered at the police station.

Anastacio has food poisoning. Abraham offers Aarón a business deal. Tinita, an orphan befriends Corazón, who is obligated to do Aarón's laundry and on top of that is arrested on a suspicion of poisoning Anastacio. Eloisa enjoys a secret rendezvous with her handsome stranger.

Numa Pompilio denies any participation in the poisoning in front of the commissioner and Reinaldo. Aarón is suffering from María Angélica's contempt and gets comfort from Damián. Corazón is heartbroken to overhear her godfather's opinion of her.

Damián learns about Eloisa and Abelardo's romance. María Angélica insults Aarón's intelligence and he takes it out on Corazón. Numa Pompilio tells the story of how the war with the Paredes started. Abraham discusses with Miguel Felipe the charging of Anastacio for Tiberio's murder.

Yomira haunts Damián's dreams. Miguel Felipe proves that the murder weapon doesn't belong to Anastacio. Corazón gets a book on etiquette and Eloisa finds the make-up section fascinating. Gisela visits Anastacio. Arcángel is detained by the authorities for predicting Tiberio's murder.

Following Abelardo's warning, Eloisa and Corazón run to the field to save Aarón, who is in danger of being killed by Mauricio. Arcángel is released. Reinaldo receives a note he'll be audited. Abraham learns who planted the poisoned food for Anastacio.

Abraham interrogates Eloisa about her intel that Aarón was in peril and about her promenade with a stranger. María Angélica slaps Corazón in front of Esther. Tinita chooses a godfather. Reinaldo faces financial and social ruin. Yomira lies to Padre Ignacio.

Reinaldo shares with Aarón his embezzlement and the need to save his reputation. Numa Pompilio comes to a conclusion and shares his thoughts with Mauricio. Abraham questions Corazón about Eloisa's admirer. Damián is against his sister using the church for secret meetings.

Corazón has a tiff with Agripina, refuses Damián's offer to make a confession and comes home right when Arcángel and Evelia are mocking the book on how to be a great lady. Aarón lures María Angélica to a hotel room to give her the check that will save Reinaldo.

Damián urges Yomira to knock some sense into Abelardo regarding the false identity. María Angélica has a change of heart. Aarón finds Mauricio at the bar. Abraham asks Corazón to resume working for his family. Reinaldo informs his wife and daughter their house is mortgaged.

The news of Aarón clashing with Mauricio travels like lightning and Corazón rushes to the Paredes hacienda, so does María Angélica. When Numa Pompilio is unable to locate Yomira, his anger brings him to the church to face Damián. Abelardo confides in his sister he won't give up on his love.

Damián is in a dangerous situation when Numa Pompilio inspects the church for his daughter and Eloisa shows up a few minutes before Abelardo's arrival. Aarón delivers a note from Belinda to Corazón asking for forgiveness for Agripina's rudeness. Reinaldo interrogates Abraham about Pantoja.

It's the evening of the party at the Guilléns. Corazón serves drinks to the guests and decides to pour some love potion (she pinched from Arcángel) into one particular glass. Aarón pushes Damián to confide in him what are his feelings and intentions regarding Yomira.

Corazón is upset after the big announcement and gets drunk. Arcángel is arrested. Numa Pompilio is determined to get to the bottom of Pantoja's murder and gives orders to his henchman to bring him Nereo.

Corazón decides to run away to Maracaibo but on the bus bumps into Estacia, who had the same idea. Damián is scandalized with Agripina's confession and she turns to her demon ways to peek into the future. Abraham and Anastacio punish two of their own man for Nereo's downfall.

Corazón is thrown back into the jail cell. Abelardo interrogates Numa Pompilio about Nereo and in the heat of the argument, his father brings up the topic of Eloisa. Abraham explains to Derián his philosophy on life, love, family and security. Aarón visits Lídia, who is tired of his indifference and interest in María Angélica.

A few people plant into Aarón's mind that Corazón is in love with someone. Abraham makes an indecent proposal. María Angélica is shocked to discover how bright and well read is Derián. Reinaldo learns what happened to Nereo. Abelardo refuses to excuse his father's actions and way of life.

Damián offers Corazón a small position in the church to take care of things. Abraham lays down to Arcángel the price of the prolong mortgage. Derián can't take it anymore with the killing, blood, vengeance and breaks down in front of Aarón. Tinita lies to her godfather.

Arcángel explains to Mercedes Abraham's condition regarding the mortgage. Corazón opens up to Damián. Abraham confronts Nivia, who has designs on selling the land to Numa Pompilio. Aarón storms out of María Angélica's home when she proposes to arrange a maid position for Corazón in Maracaibo.

Mauricio threatens Abelardo to break off his relationship with Eloisa and he writes a letter proposing a rendezvous. Abraham plots to retrieve the land by sabotage in which Numa Pompilio would be the guilty party. Corazón throws into María Angélica's face what modesty and virtue signify.

Corazón is terrified when all hell breaks loose on the account of Eloisa's heartache and Damián going to the Sarmiento mansion to see Abelardo. In the same time Yomira is unable to stop her brother Abelardo, who leaves for the Paredes hacienda to talk to Eloisa.

Damián, all beaten up and in dreadful condition gets to the church. Meanwhile Abraham discusses with Albino and his son Manuel the land and Eloisa faints from fear of facing her father. Numa Pompilio won't listen to any explanations from Yomira or Abelardo.

Yomira visits Damián at the church after the beating and bumps into Abraham, who is fascinated by her whole personality. Corazón declines to tell Aarón the reason for Eloisa's crisis and the conversation ends with the comparison between her and María Angélica.

Eloisa strongly disagrees to marry Gustavo and Corazón tries to defend her decision in front of Abraham. Derián discovers the sabotage of Albino's land and confronts his father. Padre Ignacio asks Damián about his feelings and intentions regarding Yomira.

The Paredes family welcomes Abraham's highly educated nephew, Francisco. Corazón is frightened when her godfather uses a word she didn't understand and goes to Esther for advice and clearance. Belinda shows Derián a photo of his mother and some documents.

Corazón and María Angélica get into another argument about Aarón, and are unaware that he is eavesdropping. Derián shows to Eloisa the photo of their mother and gives her support regarding her decision not to get married. Abraham has a drink with Padre Ignacio and discuss Damián's position.

Eloisa suffers a terrible ordeal. Reinaldo informs Emilio about the dispute between Abraham and Numa for Albino's land. Corazón meets Francisco, who offers to help opening a school for poor children. Damián learns the identity of Corazón's suitor. Agripina won't tell Derián more about his mother.

Mauricio plots with Rafael and Trino to assassinate Abraham without the knowledge of Numa Pompilio. Corazón wants Aarón out of her life for good and seeks guidance from Damián. Abraham makes a marriage proposal. Reinaldo offers to buy Albino's land.

During a chat with Arcángel, Aarón accidentally discovers Abraham's interest in Corazón. Agripina dresses up as a bride and completely looses her marbles after an ugly scandal with Abraham. Mauricio puts his assassination plan on hold and spends the time with Evelia.

Aarón is outraged with Abraham's marital proposal and accuses Corazón of being a gold digger. Mercedes learns of Mauricio's visit. Meanwhile María Angélica receives the reassurance of getting married soon. Abraham hires a tailor to sew Eloisa's wedding dress.

Damián explains to Corazón and Aarón the responsibilities of becoming godparents to the abandoned Tinita. Eloisa is tampering with a bottle of pills but gets busted. Manuel reassures Numa Pompilio the land will be his. Yomira gets a devious idea after discovering Manuel's crush on her.

Yomira gives the go ahead to start the wedding preparations. Abraham is shaken to learn about Eloisa and the pills. Esther tricks Corazón to agree to help with the wedding. Numa Pompilio questions Reinaldo about his intention of buying Albino's land.
