One of the best Short films to many is just lightsaber dances with little to no character development pink five though is great fun and does fantastic in this fun character comedy sketch . Amy Earhart brings a fun performance as preppy pilot Stacey callsign Pink Five along with her trusty pink astromech droid involved in the most pivotal battle for the alliance at Yavin she was referenced in both canon/legends games and books and also one of the most notable YouTube fan films Star Wars Squadrons and Allegiances. Mean Girls Meets Star Wars delightfully fun and one of the Star Wars Short films 9/10.
Being a man of many fanfilms...well, no. Scratch that, reverse it. I've SEEN as many fanfilms as most of the uber-geeks on any Star Wars site...and this one is a long-standing favorite of mine. Among fanfilm greats as The Formula and others...this fanfilms says 'screw you' to the need for amazing visual effects and moves into character development. Not to say the effects in this film aren't among the best (same with the Formula, though, I digress.)
A clever spin on a classic tale, reminiscent of the infamous Troops, this film deserves a standing ovation of laughter. The gags in this are non-ending, and always among the most clever you'll see in a fanfilm (also, The Formula. Wow, I need to get a life.)
If you've seen your share of fanfilms and are sick of the same Jedi versus Sith in a forest, the sith has a double bladed red saber, the Jedi a green single bladed saber, a few cheesy 'force' lines-style fanfilms, check this one out. If you're new to fanfilms, I can't stress this enough: check this one out.
This and The Formula.

Oh... my... god... like, when I first saw this, I was all like "this is really cool", and I had to tell my friends and they were all "whoa", and I was all "didn't I tell you?" and they were all "this is really cool", and I was all "I told you."
Something tells me the fabled Valley of the Jedi is home to the galaxy's biggest mall, and has produced this Valley Girl X-wing pilot. This comical short re-imagines the legendary Death Star run from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, by plopping the classic stereotypical valley girl into an X-wing and letting the fun just happen.
This short is one of the funniest I've seen, and Stokes, the director, has taken great pains to add effects that are sure to make Atomfilms contest managers to question if he used actual footage. He's done a wonderful job modelling the ships and creating the atmosphere of the original run.
The jokes are fresh and funny and you gotta feel sorry for that droid. Stokes has a winner here, no doubt.

Pink Five follows the adventures of rookie pilot Stacey (Amy Earhart), code name "Pink Five," in the climactic battle also seen in the feature film "Star Wars." Pink Five's unique perspective ("I totally spaced out during the briefing") makes for a hilarious romp through familiar territory. The jokes all work, and Earhart's infectiously energetic performance keeps you involved throughout this short adventure. Filmmaker Trey Stokes has said that the film originally was intended to be merely a green screen exercise ("the script was just an excuse to have something to shoot"), but the film struck a resounding chord with fans of the Star Wars universe, winning acclaim from the likes of AtomFilms.com and iFilm (which selected Pink Five as its "pick of the day" on the release day of "Attack of the Clones.") Fun and enjoyable. See it.
I just saw the 2nd one and loved it, does any one know where I can buy these on DVD?
This first film won the Star Wars fan film award, and it looks like the 2nd one is in the running again.
I would like to see what these guys could do with a big budget.
The effects are really top notch to be in a small short, the acting is great and the writing is funny.
I wish more fan films were like these.
Now I just have to wait for Return of Pink Five
